Mitch's P.O.V.

My feet paced around on the ground as I walked around the campfire in circles.

Anxious as I thought of whatever came to my mind. A sigh escaping my lips I felt my eyes grow as I heard footsteps coming towards me.

Peeking my head upwards I relaxed as I realized it was Vikk.

"Mitch, I need you to come see something. It's important." Vikk urged his British accent making him sound more worried and rushed than he was.

"Ok" I replied simply. Nodding my head he beckoned me to follow him and I obeyed.

Our footsteps the only thing heard Vikk tried striking up a conversation.

"Mitch, it wasn't your fault he was taken." Vikk assured knowing I was thinking of Preston I sighed, shaking my head as I broke my gaze away from Vikk.

"It was, I could have ran after him. But I just stood there. The worst part, the part that's killing me. Is I don't regret not going after him.

I feel like I should.....But I don't..." I explained trying to gather the words. My mind not letting me realize how to explain how I feel.

Vikk slowly nodded as if he understood. How could Vikk possibly know how I feel? "I may not be in the exact situation as you, but I have been through

something similar, have you ever watched anybody die Mitch? Right in front of your eyes and you couldn't stop it? Just watch them fade away

helplessly?" Vikk questioned bringing up an odd tension I locked eyes with him again.

"No?" I responded making it sound more like a question he forced a smile.

"Good, nobody should see those things." Vikk remarked his voice sounding soft yet firm.

My face relaxing I felt my eyes go back to their normal size.

"......You saw somebody die, didn't you Vikk?" I questioned earning a flinch from him as we continued walking.

Opening his mouth to talk he quickly closed his mouth as we started coming nearer to Rob.

Bowing my head down I shivered as we past by Rob. He wasn't a mean or bad person....He just cared a lot for others...

As soon as we were out of the clear he looked me in the eyes. Pain filling them to the brim as his eyes shined with tears in the night he nodded.

"Not just someone...Everyone...My friends, they took me in....There was....An accident...They all died..." Vikk confessed bowing his head in

shame I felt my heart being squeezed as a single tear rolled down Vikk's cheek.

"It wasn't your fault Vikk." I blurted out, my eyes widening as soon as I said it he scoffed out a laugh.

"Everybody else says otherwise Mitch. Trust me, you have no idea." Vikk spoke up his

Voice sounding fake yet cruel as if he was laughing at some cruel, awful horrible joke.

What could possibly be bad about Vikk?
