A flick of the wrist and you're through
And there's no telling what they might do
Now they've captured your soul
Oh you're under control
They've captured your soul
And they won't give it back 'till you plead

His bedroom wasn't really a bedroom at all. Sure there was a bed and dresser but there was a bike in the corner and a block of wood on the ground. That was it: a bed, a dresser, a bike, and wood. He was asleep on his bed. I crept towards him and watched his chest rise and fall, peacefully. He turned over on his side, making me jump. I quickly turned the other way, and went back to the room I slept in.

I awoke to the sound of music trailing out of the boy's room. My heart raced as I neared his door. He was sitting on his bed, blaring some song by Awolnation. Nervously, I knocked on his door even though it was open. He quickly spun around to face me and his puffy eyes made it easy to tell that he had been crying.
He quickly wiped his eyes, avoiding eye contact. I backed away, in fear of making him upset. He sniffled loudly and stood up wringing his hands.
My heart rate raced. "U-uh I was just... I'm sorry." I quickly walked back into my room. I stood in front of the window, wiping my eyes from the tears that threatened to surface.
A knock sounded on my door, making me turn around to see him. He walked over to the bed and sat down with his back to me. I slowly crept over to him and took a seat next to him but made sure to keep a safe distance between. His hands were in fists at his sides. I studied him carefully, noting that his blue eyes were watery and red.
The wind from the window touched my bare skin sending shivers down my spine. He glanced up at me, his sad eyes sending a chill through me.
He cleared his throat and he spoke huskily. "What's your name?"
The question took me by surprise, and it took me a moment to respond. "Isabelle."
He smiled. "Jax."
I narrowed my eyes. "For Jackson?"
He shook his head. "Just Jax."
A/N: The gif above is obviously of Jax and the song next to it is Ghosts by Gabrielle Aplin. Hope you enjoyed.
