This one shot was actually requested by my younger sister, which surprised me because she hates Varian (and Ruddiger). I'm still glad that she gave me an idea. I hope you all enjoy!

"Y/n, are you in here?"

Varian cringed as the door to Y/n's bedroom made a creaking noise when opened. Y/n's parents had told Varian that Y/n was in the house somewhere, but they just didn't know where. Varian decided to go check to see if she was in her room. Unfortunately, she wasn't.

"Where could she be?" Varian wondered. He felt something nudge his foot and he looked down to see a small, brown book. He picked it up and saw the words "Y/n's Journal" written on the front cover. "That's weird. Why would she have this just laying on the ground?"

Just as Varian was about to put the journal on Y/n's bed, his arm froze and his curiosity got the best of him.

"I guess one peek wouldn't hurt?" He turned each page slowly, getting as much information as he could, hoping to find something about him. Soon, his eyes fell on the last written page. It said:

Dear Diary,

Today, Varian helped me harvest my family's crops. He's so strong and helpful! I'm surprised that he even volunteered to leave his experiments for a day. He's the sweetest and most reliable guy I know and my feelings for him are growing even stronger than before. I'm hoping that I'll get a chance to go out with him soon. Wish me luck!

Y/n

Varian's entire face flushed. She liked him? Since when? Varian could hardly believe the written words, so he reread them over and over again.

"Wow..." Varian sighed. He jumped as soon as he heard the doorknob turning. Before he could hide the journal, Y/n entered the room.

"Oh, hi, Varian! I wasn't expecting you...here..." Y/n's face fell when she saw Varian holding the journal.

Moments passed and the room was completely silent. Both the teens' faces were red as tomatoes and they both struggled to comprehend a single sentence.

Finally, Varian spoke.

"I'm so sorry, Y/n! I-I don't know what I was thinking," Varian said.

"It's ok," Y/n mumbled. "I guess the cat's out of bag anyway."

More silence came.

"Willyougooutwithme?"

Y/n's eyes widened. "Wh-what?"

"Will you go out with me?" Varian shut his eyes tight, hoping that Y/n wouldn't get mad.

"S-sure! I'd love to."

With wide eyes, Varian made eye contact with Y/n. "R-really?"

Y/n nodded. "Who wouldn't want to go out with you?"

Varian smiled brightly and swooped Y/n up into a hug. "Thank you! I'll make you the happiest girl ever, I promise!"

"I have your word," Y/n smiled.
