Chapter 1

Calum's POV: After losing my wife in a crossfire, I fell apart. I started drinking heavily and smoking heavily, I also started doing drugs.

Sapphire's POV: Before I went away to college, I would always wake up to hearing my dad throwing up in the morning because he was hung over. I had to basically do everything to help my dad take care of my little sister Ramona.

Ramona's POV: My big sister Sapphire, was basically taking care of me; she made sure I was ready for school, took me to school, picked me up from school, made sure I ate, and took care of me when I was sick.

Sapphire's POV: So, I basically raised her. My dad wasn't doing well, he was a complete mess; it was like he didn't want to live anymore.

Calum: Thanks, Ash-ton. * he slurs *

Ashton: Whoa, Calum. * he says holding him up *

Calum: I had Fun! * he shouts *

Ashton: Be quite, the girls are sleep.

Calum: I love you, ma-n! *he slurs *

Ashton: Shh.

Calum: What!? * he shouts again *

Ashton: Sapphire and Ramona are sleep.

Calum: * randomly starts to sing loudly *

Sapphire: Hey, Ashton.

Ashton: Hey Sapphire, did I wake you?

Sapphire: No, Dad did.

Ashton: Sorry about that, he had one to many.

Sapphire: Again.

Ashton: Yes.

Sapphire: * Sigh * Ashton, I am worried about dad.

Ashton: I am too.

Sapphire: Ever since mom died, he hasn't been acting right.

Ashton: I know but remember he is grieving.

Sapphire: I know he is but I'm worried that I might lose him too.

Ashton: What do you mean?

Sapphire: Dad, has scars everywhere on both arms and on both wrists.

Ashton: He does?

Sapphire: Yes.

Ashton: When did he start?

Sapphire: 3 years after we buried her.

Ashton: I didn't notice.

Sapphire: It's because he hides them.

Ashton: I'll talk to him.

Sapphire: Thanks.

Ashton: Hey, here is my number. If you need anything or just want to talk, I am a phone call or text away. * he says handing Sapphire his phone number *

Sapphire: Thanks.

Ashton: No problem. * Hugs her *

Sapphire: *Accepts the hug *

Ashton: Goodnight, you should probably go back to bed. * He says opening the door and walking out *

Sapphire: Goodnight.

Ashton: Lock up.

Sapphire: I will, bye.

Ashton: Bye.

Sapphire: Looks like I'll have to take his shoes off, cover him up and shut his light off again. * she says to herself after locking the door and walking to her father's bedroom *
