"You don't need to be listening to that Mr Kai" you said as you turned off the tv that the handless man was fuming about.
"Now come on, it's time to change your clothes" you said and he risked at you
He rarely spoke since he was administered to the psychiatric ward and if he did it was normally snarky, or dry, but it was better than his first week where he did nothing but stare off into space
So the moment he spoke a full sentence you nearly jumped.
"Thank you, that was irritating to say the least, and it doesn't help that I can't turn it off myself" he spoke with his voice dry as ever through his mask.
Normally they wouldn't allow something like his mask but it would only worsen his state to feel unclean.
You worked as his nurse, changing him, feeding, he tried his best to bath alone but normally gave up and waved his stumps in frustration.
You could tell lossing his hands and almost his whole arms was more than frustrating so unlike everyone one else you where nice to him, despite what he did to that poor child.
"Of course, do you mind if I pull off your pants now" you asked as you had already stripped off the button up shirt leaving him bare back against the plastic wrapped strap down chair
"Go ahead" he spoke and you started to pull them off
It was awkward for a minute but he started to talk again Wich surprised you for the second time today, he tried to start a conversation
"So...why a caretaker?" He asked and you paused rolling his fresh pants up his legs before continuing.
"Because, I want to help people" you said and he looked down at you from the corner of his eye and then looked back off into space again
"Normally people go for a pro if they want to help, as useless as the hero's are" he said and you paused before looking to make sure the door was closed
"... Because they are useless... And besides I'm not fit for being a hero... I don't have the capability" you said and his eyes widened before he looked at you while you stood up to put on his shirt
You started to button it up and he watched closely
"Why are you not fit for it" he said watching your fingers weave buttons as if he was envious of them.
"... I don't have a quirk"
"Then I guess... That makes you perfect" he said and a warm bubbly feeling sparked up in you
Because that was the first time anyone had said that to you
But he meant what he said far to much
Because in his mind you where perfect for him.
