We Can Come Up With Something! (Negaduck X Reader)*

Start from the beginning

I dressed and walked out into the bedroom. A maskless Negaduck blinked up at me from the bed. His face reminded me of Drake so much, I shuttered. However, his clothes were more bad boy, a black t-shirt and blood red leather jacket. Oddly, it helped me relax.

"I like the outfit," I hummed.

"Glad you approve," he smiled and crossed the bed. He held out a small box. "I've got you something."

"A present?" I pulled the lid off. "A car?"

"Yea because I'm boring." He rolled his eyes.

He pulled me out of the building into the parking deck. A shiny new bike was propped up in the emergency lane. It was clearly mine. The model wasn't anything I would imagine Negaduck on.

"Well?" he hummed.

"It's mine?" I asked, not looking away.

"Unless you want something," I cut him off.

"No! It's perfect."

I hugged him, then snatched the helmet off the handlebar. I threw the other one at him.

"Really?"

"I'm not trying to kill you," I mumbled, getting on the bike.

"That's a nice change in pace," he hummed in my ear, wrapping his arms around me.

"I've never tried to kill you." I revved the engine.

"Yea right," he was cut off by us jetting forward.

We shot into the street. His hands grabbed me, and he coughed to cover up an undignified scream. I laughed and speed as fast I could towards the coffee shop.

"Hi!" The rat stood and greeted me. His eyes landed on Negaduck as he sat beside me and his smiled fell. I could see the disappointment ripple across his body.

"Elmo, this is my very instant," Nega cut me off.

"Boyfriend, Jim," Nega growled, crossing his arms. I blinked. I hadn't expected him to say anything.

"I wanted to speak to you," his eyes danced to Nega, then back to me, "alone."

"Whatever you want to discuss, you can say in front of me," Nega said. I turned to him.

"It's fine," I whispered.

He glared at me. I challenge him to say anything. Reluctantly, he stood and walked to the bar.

"You know how to pick 'em. First Drake. Now this brute," Elmo sighed.

"He's not like that. He knows about my past and he's trying to protect me," I explained.

"Not from where I'm sitting. He's just another Drake." He glared at Negaduck, who was glaring back. I grabbed his hand.

"He's not." Elmo eyed me and waited for me to give him some proof. "He helped me leave D and quit that job."

"Oh," he looked surprised. He thought my hero gig was a security job. "I know you enjoyed it, if not the coworkers. What are you doing now?"

"Jim is taking care of me." He narrowed his eyes. "Just until I start my next job. It's the similar to my old one, just a different company. I just needed some time away from D, you know."

He seemed to relax that I at least had a plan. He might be more inclined to object if he knew the plan was to become a criminal. Well more of an antihero.

"You could've come to me," he pressed, still not sold on Nega.

"It wasn't planned."

"Do you trust him?" Elmo glanced at Nega.
