THE TIME WAS AROUND CHRISTMAS. GETTING CLOSE to it, actually. The Glee Club was currently in the choir room decorating for the holiday.

They were singing "The Most Wonderful Day of the Year" to get into the holiday spirit.

"We're on the island of Misfit Toys,
Here we don't wanna stay
We wanna travel with Santa Claus
In his magic sleigh"

Rayanne was sitting at the piano bench, stringing popcorn on string for the tree. Rachel was stood next to her wrapping prop presents.

"A pack full of toys means a sack full of joys
For millions of girls and for millions of boys
When Christmas day is here
The most wonderful day of the year"

Rayanne wasn't a big fan of Christmas, since every year she didn't have much family to spend it with. It was usually just her and Ricky. Her mom was always out late working. Maybe this year she won't have to.

Mr Schue entered the room, noticing they were all decorating to his surprise. Hey, guys. What's this?"

"We're trying to get into the Christmas spirit, Mr. Schue." Finn was eager about the winter holiday. "Christmas is totally my favorite holiday. And check out this awesome tree. I found it on the side of the road. It must've fell off some guy's car."

"And the ornaments?" Mr. Schue asked.

"The guy who lives next door finally killed off his elderly mother. When they carted him off, they left the house wide open." Santana was quick to answer. "I think she was a holiday hoarder."

Mr. Schue was started to get worried. "Uh-- and the presents?"

"I lifted them from a display at the mall. But don't worry. They're empty," Puck defended, as if that made it any better.

"Guys, I appreciate the effort, but this isn't what Christmas is supposed to be like." Mr. Schue said, disappointed.

"For us it is." Mercedes spoke. "This tree is like a mascot for Glee Club. We won Sectionals two years in a row and according to everyone at this school, we still suck."

Mr. Schue wasn't having any of it. "I am not gonna let you guys throw yourselves a pity party. Look, I'm the first one to say, that things haven't turned out exactly how I would have liked them to this year. But Christmas is all about being grateful for the things that did."

"I thought that was Thanksgiving."

Mr. Schue continued, "And this year, Glee Club is gonna lend a hand to the McKinley-Vento Homeless Children and Youth Program right here in Lima."
