"Go check on Lu. Be back down in 30 minutes. We having a meeting."

I walked upstairs to hear Scoop wrapping Crooked Smile by J. Cole by the bedside of a sound asleep Luna.

"But like the sun girl you know I find my way back round ..." He finished.

I stood by the door opening and smiled. Scoop really does consider us family.

"Why you gotta be a creep Tiny." he said while still tucking Luna in.

"Nigga please." I rolled my eyes. Aint nobody got time to be messing with him.

We both sat on a small couch that was in the corner of the room.

"Scoop?" I asked as I rested my head on his shoulder.

"Yeah?"

"How bad is it?" I know that Donté would never tell me when situations get bad. But I needed to know. I cant afford to walk into anything blind.

Before he opened his mouth I had to add , "Dont lie to me."

"Everything gone be igh." He moved his shoulder so that I could sit up.

His finger grazed my chin to make me look up at him.

"I promise."

Looking into his eyes I knew he meant every word. Maybe more than ...

"Downstairs. Now." said a voice we both knew all too well.

Fuck. This looks bad.

We both collected ourselves and headed towards the door. Before I left the room I kissed Luna one more time.

I went downstairs to see a lot more men that looked like the "Kenny" guy from earlier. I continued to look around the room to see alot of familiar faces. Both Marcus and Tasha were there as well.

Tasha gave me a small awkward smile. I returned one to her as well. Still everyone sat in silence.

"Alright we gone make this short and sweet. Yall motherfuckers obviously got other shit yall could be doing," said an already frustrated King.

He didnt even look at me. His demeanor felt ice cold. As if , I was nobody. Just a fly on the wall.

"People starting to get real comfortable here in LA. So for yall protection... take these." he said as he opened up a suitcase. In the case laid guns, stacks of money, and envelopes.

One of the "Kenny" guys began to pass around the merchandise.

"Consider it a fucking care package." King walked around the room slowly still not making any eye contact.

"But the last time we got a care package..." started Tasha.

"Exactly." Interrupted King.

"Now. Everyone go back to life as normal. But on a schedule. You will send me a text every night with the code number 7 to let me know you good." King continued.

He grabbed the remote and turned on the tv. The scorpion tattoo was threatening on the screen.

"If you see this shit anywhere. I dont give a fuck if it on ya mommas cornbread. Call me." King looked everyone in the eye. But me.

Seeing that tattoo brought out the worst in me. I took a deep breath to compose myself. I couldn't give anyone the slightest hint that this had anything to do with me.

"If I find out that you did, and did not tell me. You will die. Simple. Now get the fuck out." King dropped the remote on the table and walked upstairs.
