Julius's POV
I smiled at Vera's cuteness as she ran into the house.
I gave her a few minutes to herself before going in after her.
Guessing she would have gone to the kitchen for some water, I went there and I stopped when I saw shattered glass on the floor and an empty bottle of water on the table.
My heart started racing as I stormed out of the kitchen yelling out Vera's name.
I had this painful feeling that something was terribly wrong
My yelling brought everyone back in to the house
"What's wrong Julius? "
Uncle Richard walked up to me placing his hand on my shoulder
"Vera
She-she's gone"
"Gone?
What do you mean by gone? "
"I don't know mother.
I walked into the kitchen and there was glass shattered everywhere.
I just have this bad feeling"
I was panicking as I ran a hand through my hair
"Calm down son
We'll check all over the house"
They split up to check and I ran up to our room hoping by some miracle she would be having a shower or something.
But my heart sank when she wasn't there
Nor was she in the music room
I felt like ripping myself apart for having her taken right under my nose once again
I felt so horrible and I didn't even know who it could have been
We all gathered back in the living room
"We didn't find her"
Aunt Patricia's words were like daggers piercing my heart and my chest tightened as the last hope I had just went down the drain.
The landline rang and Denzell walked over to it
"It's for you Julius"
I was in no mood to answer any phone call but Denzell insisted and I held the phone up to my ear.
Vera's ear splitting screams came form them other side of the phone and my heart dropped
"Vera!
Vera are you okay!? "
I could tell everyone's attention was on me now
There was silence on the other end of the phone for a while and it was killing me
"Ver-"
"Now Julius
Calm down
Take a deep breath"
I couldn't believe who I heard on the other end of the call
"Cyrus"
"Ding ding
You got it.
Now how are you enjoying your little get away? "
"Cut the crap and tell me where you have taken my Vera! "
I could tell my roar shook everyone
"You will mind your tone when talking to me
Keep in mind I have your little flower here and I know you won't like to hear her being shot in the head, now would you? "
My jaw tightened
"What the fuck do you want! ? "
"It's very easy actually.
I want you"
"What the fuck do you mean by that! "
"I want you to come here.
On your own
I have an old score to settle with you.
There is a man in a black Mercedes Benz waiting outside your house
I want you to get in and quietly let him drive you to the location
If we get a wiff that you are acting smart we will send you your wife's head"
I put down the phone and just stared into space
"What happened
Julius? "
"I have to go"
I started walking out when Uncle Richard stopped me
"What happened Julius? "
"Cyrus kidnapped Vera and he wants me to come there on my own"
"It's too risky Julius"
"I rather risk my life than hers"
He looked at me and nodded, letting me go.
"Get in! "
