Chapter 24

Vera's POV

Arrangements for Julius's birthday were on the way.
It was today and I hadn't seen him all morning

I wanted to wish him so I had woken up a little earlier which was totally unlike me .
The party was to start at 3
And it was 12.
I knew he was going to be busy during the party accepting gifts and all that, so I really wanted to see him before then.

It was so unlike me to wake up early and I didn't know what had gotten over me.

I stayed up in my room to avoid all those strangers downstairs but I decided to go down to just see how things were going.

I walked down the stairs and they stared at me.
I awkwardly walked to Aldonis who was talking, but to no one.
I tapped his shoulder and he jerked turning to me.

"Oh goodness"
He tapped something in his ear that I just realized was the ear piece he was talking into

"Nice to see you too.
Nice arrangements by the way"

"Thank you.
Julius's birthday has always been the one thing we put so much effort into doing mostly because alot of people attend it, each year bigger than the last"

"Do you know where he is"

His eyes lit up and a smirk danced on his lips

"So you'll give him his gift ay"

I laughed at his fake Irish accent

"Well
Yeah"

"Well he's in his study right now.
Oh and your dresses will be sent to you in the next one hour.
Try it on and see if it's okay to dance in"

"D-dance?"

Aldonis furrowed his brows at me

"Yes dance.
You two are the new couple, so everyone would expect you to perform a ball dance"

My heart was racing.
I don't know how to dance!
And a of a ball dance!
I could definitely never pull of a ball gown

"O-okay"

I started walking away

What on Earth was I supposed to do now.
I had less than three hours to learn a freaking ball dance.

I needed to talk to Julius.
If he could cancel the dance or something.

"Come in"
His husky voice boomed from the other side of the room after I knocked twice.

I walked in and immediately I shut the door I spotted Julius, shirtless sitted behind his desk he fiddled with his pen.
My cheeks went red as I started at him.

When he looked up to me and our eyes met I diverted my gaze tucking loose strands of my hair back, my blush increasing

He stood up and walked up to me.
He towered over me as he looked down

"Any problem Vera?"

"I-i"
I was such a wreck.
I couldn't concentrate . My cheeks were burning and the air felt so thick I couldn't breathe. His bare torso did things to me.

"Are you okay?

Take a seat"

He lead me and I sat on a sofa and tried not to focus on his gorgeous body

"H-happy Birkday"
I managed to speak.

He squated down in front of me as he laughed.

"It's birthday but thank you"
His laugh was so nice that I just started at the scene. His pearl white teeth and dimpled cheek.

"That's beautiful"
I couldn't help the smile that crept unto my face and I didn't notice the words had gotten out of my mouth until Julius just stared at me, straight into my eyes and I became more flustered.

I stared into his grey orbs as I could see his pupils dilating.

"I-i
I wanted to talk to you about the dance"
I played with my fingers to control my nerves as I looked down at my feet feeling his intense glare on me

"You don't know how to dance do you?"
He huffed and I looked up to see he walked over to his table and brought out a sound box.
Walking back to me he stretched out his hand to me and the slow, music started playing.

I stared from his hand to his face and I accepted it.
He pulled me to his chest by my waist

"Your hands go here"

He placed my hands on his bare neck while his were on my waist holding me delicately and closely to him.

"Just follow my lead.
You'll be fine"

He started moving and I stared at my feet as I tried to mirror his movements.
I was doing okay so far. I was happy I hadn't made us fall.

"Look into my eyes hermoso" (Spanish) beautiful

He spoke under his breath and it gave me butterflies.
I didn't know what he said but it didn't stop my knees from going weak.
I stared into his eyes as we moved together.

It's like we were the same person.
Our eyes showed each other where to move.

Towards the ending of the song he dipped me and when I came back up our faces were only inches apart and my eyes drifted to his lips.
I started moving in closer and he was moving in as well.

Our lips were grazing each other's when his office door flew open

"Boss.
Lionel....-"

He drifted off when he noticed what was happening

"I really need to start knocking, don't I"

"Yeah you do"
Julius glared at Aldonis before he let me go and my face was still red.

I laughed awkwardly

"I'll be on my way then"

I walked out of the office with my burning cheeks.
