Chapter 39

Vera's POV

I thought I would have time to convince myself that everything was going to be okay but I didn't.

I found out the dinner was tomorrow and I was freaking out.

What if his family didn't like me,
What if they hated red heads

Basically I was an anxious mess.
Lexi had tried severally to convince me that I was just worrying for no reason and she was sure they would love me but I couldn't take her words for it.

I would have to meet his two uncles from his father's side , their kids and wives.
Julius's mother was an only child but her mother was coming as well.

So I had a lot of people to try and please..

"You're worrying for nothing doll.
I'm sure they would love you, you don't have to try too hard"

Julius spoke so comfortably as he snacked on some popcorn I held in my hand.
We were watching a movie trying to get my mind off the fact that the dinner was in the next 3 hours.
I sat between his open legs backing him while his head was rested on mine as he stole my popcorn right out of my hands, but I was too worried to bother

"What if they don't like red heads? "

I was mumbling to myself completely paying no attention to anything else

"Doll calm down.
You are getting yourself all worked up for nothing and now you aren't even enjoying the movie and I'm over here trying to tell my beautiful wife that she is perfect and doesn't need to please anyone"

I laid back into his chest and sighed.
He wrapped his hands around my belly i turned my face to look at his

"You sure?"

"Positive"

I faced the television as he placed kisses on my neck in an attempt to calm me and it was working.
I just decided to see how things go and hope it goes well

Lexi helped me do my hair and makeup.
My make up was a nude theme with red eye liner for my bottom lashes, black wings, red blush and blood red lipstick.
She curled my hair and parted the middle.

I had to be honest I looked gorgeous and even better when I slipped into my gown

"Wow
You look sizzling hot"

Lexi used her hands to fan herself.
And I laughed at her.

"I'm sure Julius would just eat you out of that dress"

I smacked her, walking out with my black clutch purse, after slipping on my nude heels.

I was in the middle of the stairs when my eyes fell on Julius at the end of the stairs leaning against the wall.

My cheeks went hot.
He looked so handsome and attractive

In a black suit with a white inner shirt and a red tie to match my dress.

I watched as he looked at me and his eyes roamed my body as my cheeks became hotter and all of a sudden I found it hard to breathe

Julius's POV

I heard clicking of heels and I looked up to see the most gorgeous woman I had ever laid eyes on.
She walked so gracefully downstairs as the red dress looked even better on her now that her curled her cascaded down her shoulders.
Her make up made her look cute and beautiful.

She looked like a goddess.
My goddess.

She stopped at the stairs, her cheeks burning red.
I smirked and met her halfway up.

I brought out my hand and she took it.
Hand in hand I walked her down.
I raised her hand to my lips and placed a kiss to the tip of her knuckles.

"Hermosa diosa" (spanish)
Beautiful goddess
I looked up to see her face a bright red and I smiled regaining my posture

"Shall we"

She looked flustered as she only nodded.

Gosh if only she knew what she does to me
If  we didn't have to go I would have taken her right here and right now
I had to hold myself.

We drove for two hours.
The family home was a bit far from where we stayed.
I watched as we drove to a familiar part of the city as memories flooded my mind and I couldn't help but smile

Memories of being brought her when I was 10 came flooding back

I always played in the gardens and around the house with mother and granny

We pulled up at the giant metal gates and I had to show the security guard my face before the gates were unlocked and slid open.
Driving through the greenery we stopped at the building I knew all too well

"It's exactly how I remember.
Our family home"
