I'm not sure if I fully headcanon this or not but its something I thought of;
All nations have wings. They can be any color or multiple colors. The state of their wings depends on how corrupted they are. A nation that follows international law and respects human rights and is generally not an asshole will have full, healthy wings. A nation that does the opposite will see their wings wither and fall apart. There wings will be nothing but bone.
Other nations tend to avoid those with 'sick' wings. They are disturbed on a subconscious level, kind of like the Uncanny Valley effect.
