We desis got a TON of formalities. Here's the examples:
1. We dont take anything before neglecting it to infinity, although we secretly want it.
2. We never just SPLIT the bill. We start a chain of "Arre, nahi, aap nhi, hum denge" until the elders finally get the wholesome idea that splitting the bill is the best.
3. As a formality, we always say, "khud ka ghar samjho", although even if the guests mess up a single thing, we internally get mad.
4. We never just say no, we say "kabhi aur", because we think their world will turn upside down if we deny.
5. And then there's, "humse kya sharmana", even though y'all not even so close.
But there's one exception. Scolding. There is legit no formality, no filter for scolding. They scold you in front of your parents, while your parents support it.
