Liu's eyes widen." So, my brother has super healing?" Margaret chuckles wistfully." I think it's just Gods work," Peter made this mullishly look, while Liu just ate thoughtfully.

It was silent.

It's been silent, actually, since Elizabeth left three days ago. She recovered before him and appeared to be going home, which was in another state.

Thus, he was left in silence, though it wasn't diminished, his aunt called regularly in the mornings and afternoons, and he enjoyed their talks like always. She understood him, at least, to the degree Elizabeth did. But sometimes his doctor cuts down on the calls, because it's supposedly a hassle to move him to the end of the room for him to chat.

The air was getting colder and brisk, and when the nurses left the window open up on his request, he could take in the full cold. It was momentary relief, to feel the freeze that settled in his bones and chill the burn of his skin. Because, oh, it burned. It always burned, but if it didn't burn, it itches, like fire ants crawling and chewing on his skin as if they were trying to escape his bandages with him.

Well, then he got assigned a new nurse, and they didn't feel like leaving the window open.

His train of thought is hindered by two doctors when they enter, the last shutting the door the door hastily, without a care. It's when they started speaking, he stopped pretending to pay attention to them. He couldn't be bothered to hear what they were saying, too buzzed to care.

He was so cheerful over the past weeks, but this morning, his headache came back. When mentioned to the nurse, they popped a few drugs into his system, but nothing seemed to change... well, except his hands got shaky from an excess of energy. Energy he can't use, he's bedridden.

Then these.. tutting whispers get started, those same whispers he heard before. The same ones that make him want to bash his head open on the edge of the headboard behind him.

Jeffery leaned his head back on said headboard as he notices one of the nurses walk over, grinning stiffly.

"Hey, Jeffery?" He heard, and looks to him as he basically demanded his attention now." Yeah?" "Guess what? You get to leave tomorrow." He spoke softly, and Jeffery seemed to beam at that. He didn't." Really?" He says dazed.

He didn't want to return to that house, but it's not like he wanted to stay in this disgusting place either. Overall, he did really want to hug his brother and cry into his shoulder like he did when he fell off a bike that one time as kids. Liu always comforted him, even though he was the reason his parents never loved Jeff.

Maybe when his aunt came down here she could take him with her? He loves her house, it's always cold in North Dakota... she always had something for him to work on, or needed him babysitting, and she acknowledged him. He liked her acknowledgment.

"Yup," The doctor cuts in, and Jeffery turns to him.

"You get your bandages off today as well. Isn't that exciting?" He nods, and sits up more to stretch his neck." We'll remove them when your family gets here, they will comfort you for whatever we find under there." The words were very, irritable, but Jeff ignores it, only wanting to see his brother again. He visits sparingly because of school and such.

It's only an hour later that the theee get there. They lined up, got their wristbands, before hustling their way behind Jeffery's nurse and trodding down the hall. Liu and Peter were both nervous, a similar look on either men's faces.

Peter hadn't visited until now. He had given an excuse— he didn't want to see his son this way. But he didn't really know why himself... perhaps he was guilty, and didn't know how he should act toward his youngest now that he's realized all his injustices toward him.
