Third Person.

It was a long three months; the longest Liu had ever experienced, he can easily say that much.

He was excused from school for two days, but had to attend immediately after, so he was thrust into overdue homework as soon as he got home. It was almost jarring— moving from the strict fundamentals of Juvenile Detention under the care of Dr. Olaf, to a place and situation that was, and should, be completely familiar to him. It was not. It's like this place was a completely different world, that looked, sounded, and felt the same but was just, different. Jeffery being gone certainly didn't help in this bewildered way he saw the world.

Not only that, but his sleeping habits took a harsh turn. He would often stay up with his mother or father in the living room, gushing over photos of Jeffery when he was younger, or just talking about Jeff like he was already dead.

That was another thing that occured those three months; Jeffery, despite all odds, survived the surgeries. He was moved from radiology just a week after being put there— it was very swift actually.

When she got the call, Margaret fell to her knees in joy, before bolting up and heading for the car so she could see her baby while he woke up.

Liu hasn't seen her so overjoyed for Jeffery like that before.

Other than that, things seemed to just settle into its pace, despite the disillusionment settling at the back of Liu's head. He pushed it off as jitters— anyone's be worried if they'd be in his place right now.

Whenever Liu went to school all he got were looks of sympathy and others of annoyance. He was quick to run home as soon as the bell rang; it was annoying to say the least.

When he makes it home early enough, he catches his mother settling in Jeffery's room, cleaning something. Every day she went in there, fixing up the bed, sweeping the floor, dusting.

She seemed to be trying to clean up every problem they had, dusting it away so her family could heal without anything bothering them. She even refused invitation to this seasonal party hosted by a neighbor, finding Liu and Peter might not want to go, so she threw it away without a thought. She really was trying, trying to be a better mother for both of her children. She visited Jeffery at least once a week, though there was a slight hesitation that Liu decided best to ignore.

Peter, was just moping, going over every time he even talked to the brunette, but could only find instances of asking him for things as of late. He didn't even realize it then, but he knew, the second his son walks in that door again, he was going to try his hardest to be better. He was so convinced on that idea, he even stopped smoking, trying to keep his head clear from drugs so that he could focus on the more important things. When someone you care for is in such a state, it's easy to make those promises.

Jane Richardson, despite her father's judgement, visited Jeff on multiple occasions. She was the one requested to give Margaret his homework over the course of his recovery, and through her she was given the invite to see the teen. While she was convinced Jeffery was a friend, he had different ideas.

Although, he could say differently about his roommate— well, the one outside radiology. He wasn't present enough to even care about the others.

Jeff had met a girl at the hospital, in the same room as him in PACU, Elizabeth. She had been in a similar situation, one where she was beaten cruly, and it surprised them both that someone else had finally related to what they were going through, the things they thought.
