Part. 5, A Slow Recovery☠️

Start from the beginning

"I'm here to visit my son Jeffery, Jeffery Hodek. "

She smiled," Ah, Mrs. Hodek, I remember now! Yes, I believe his unit had just finished up lunch, he should be free now," She mindfully turns to a filing cabinet next to her, opening the top to pull out something.

If she was able to recognize the woman, it really said something about Margaret's commitment to her visits." Yes, thank you, Ms. Wilson. But, today, I brought my son with me. His brother." The raven-haired girl nods, looking back to them for a mere second, before grabbing another item from the cabinet before shutting it.

"Right, what is your name dear?" "Ah, Liu," "okay, Liu. I'll put you down as a visitor, and let me tell you the rules of visiting a patient in PACU,"

Liu listens intrigued as she gives them both wristbands, lifting their wrists gently to put them on," Make sure not to touch any of the equipment that he may be using, and if he still has a roommate don't provoke them. She's nice, don't worry too much." Liu nods." And the visiting time is three hours long, unless his doctor cuts your visit short for any reason. I trust you know your way?" She smiles, and Margaret nods, giving a short farewell before walking through to a separate pair of glass doors, away from the ones Liu was gazing through.

Said teen is met with a long dull hallway, chattering barely heard in distance, only a pair of staircases greeting them. He looked up and read some of the signs while following his mother down the first staircase, before hastily they turned into yet another empty Hallway.

It was only for a split second he read the PACU sign, before his mother opened the doors and they're met with a large spacious room being bombarded by skidding doctors, nurses, and Sergio a alike. There were sometimes patients mowing on around, but Liu didn't let his eyes linger respectfully. At least the wallpaper here was a more homely greenish burgundy, but the floor still squeaked as Liu trudged his sneakers along.

They both walk down until Margaret turns to a door on instinct. Room 3-12. She looks at him, and nods, before impishly uttering," It's still not too late to refuse, you can stand outside if you-," "It's fine Mom. I want to do this." He spoke with strange confidence, and she nods.

"Very well."

She swings the door open, and Liu peeks an eye in. The first person he saw was the blonde-haired girl, who sat in a cheesy hospital bed, the sun shining from the window behind her with a sort of grace to it. Her smile was almost angelic, but the whole left side of her face had this ugly purplish green tint to it. Liu, ever respectful, instead looked to her hickory brown eyes, which seemed anxious but fiery. She was leaning mullishly against a pillow arch, her pale arms draped over the white bedsheets like stiff sticks.

"Hello, Elizabeth." Margaret greets softly, and the girl looks up, her eyes broadening." Mrs. Hodek," She says, her voice much too dry but tittering.

"Is Jeffery free?" Margaret asks, leading Liu into the room as she peeks at the large blueish-gray curtain that hid her son. A silent grumble comes in reply like something was exhorted by her, but it was simply ignored.

"Yes, just ea-ing." She makes a long grumble, motioning for the nurse— who Liu just now noticed because her white scrubs matched the wall so well— that stood by her to indicate something. He came forward with a glass, a long straw poking out of it and she took a hasty sip, before sighing. The two waited politely.

"Who's this you have with you?" She asks when the man finally backed away." Oh, this is Jeffery's older brother, Liu. He w-"

The curtain slid open as fast as a bullet at the mention of Liu, and they all turn, almost shocked." Liu?" Jeff could move his arms freely, but it was visibly bit of a struggle for him to sit up, the bandages around his body stifling and.. weird.
