Part. 4, Letting The Bad Thoughts Go☠

Jane smiled, while Arkensaw backed off Jeffery like he was a hot iron, a coy look in her eyes," Oh, Jane, I didn't know you were here with Jeffery. Are you guys on a date?"

"Why do people keep saying that?" "Nope, I just wanted to hang out. Do you want to join us?" Richardson, despite her former words of disdain toward Arkensaw, put out an olive branch.

"No no, I'm actually here with my friends. I'll catch you later, Jeffery," She leaned up and pecked the brunette on his tawny cheek, before she wiggled her fingers in farewell and gracefully leaving.

Obviously that whole tangent about not knowing how to skate was a lie.

"I don't even want to know what that was about." Jane seemed dimmer as she came up next to him." She was flirting with you, you know."

"Well that part was obvious, but I'm wondering why." Jeffery wasn't stupid, and he's been flirted with before. The only thing is, no one flirts with him unless they want something.

He looked back down to Richardson, and frowned further himself. Maybe..." Hey, don't take this the wrong way, but this isn't a date, right?"

She looked at him in exasperation, before huffing," No, you idiot." "Okay, good, just making sure." "You're an asshole, you know that?"

He chuckled, as they sped around others." I know, it's my thing. And while this may not be a date to us, it might be to Mss. Arkensaw over there. Whats up between you two besides your names?"

Jane shrugged, and before they knew it, they were sliding off of the rink and toward the corner of the building, where less people resided. Jane smashed down into a bench, sighing. Jeffery hesitantly took a stance against the wall next to her, crossing his arms.

"Me and Jane used to be friends during middle school,"

Wait a second... When did he turn into a shrink?

Can he back out of this and go back skating without making Jane mad?

"We were like, best friends. One night we were having a sleepover, with this other girl. We were like, drinking, and I guess I got so drunk I blacked out,"

Happens to everyone, can we go skate now?

"And I stayed like that until the morning. When I woke up, I was in her bathroom... And they kicked me out as soon as they saw me awake. I don't know what happened, but they've ignored me since. Once we made it to highschool, Jane has taken to the habit of being overall rude to me, but in such a bittersweet way..."

"Uh, I'm sorry about that." She shrugged, and he mindfully tapped her shoulder in comfort, awkwardly nodding." That's fucked up, and I'm sure whatever you did, you didn't deserve to be treated like that." "Thanks... Hey, wanna go watch a movie? I'm sorry for just dragging you into my problems."

"Yup, sounds cool. I don't mind." Anything to get out of whatever the hell this just was.

And that's what they did. Jane took him over to the cinema, which was relevantly less crowded from when they last saw it. After a couple of hours, and two very long action flicks, they found themselves along the sidewalk, Jane laughing loudly as she smacked Jeffery's shoulder.

"What?! Liu is so fucking awesome, dude!" "He is, I know." She dimmed down from her chuckles, clutching the package of rope candies in her left hand just a little less.

"Ah... Thanks for coming out with me Jeffery. I know you probably don't like people, but it was still fun, right?" Jeffery made a foxy grin, looking ahead of them." Well, it was fine. I guess you make decent company, despite how much of a loser you are," She broke into laughter again, before Jeffery stopped in front of a house.
