Part. 4, Letting The Bad Thoughts Go☠

Start from the beginning

"Wow, you really are a natural!" He scoffed teasingly, keeping a slow pace to stray next to her." Thanks, I guess."

Jane suddenly sped up more, twirling around a couple of younger kids to demonstrate her skill, and Jeffery humored the thought enough to follow after her. He was here to skate, why not play around a little?

It didn't take long for Jeffery to relax more and have a little bit of fun. He'll never admit that he had fun with Jane, but he did.

For a second there, everything stopped. He didn't think about Liu, about his mother, or about anything that he couldn't stop thinking about just minutes ago. He only worried about doing better tricks than Jane to one up her. But she wasn't vengeful or envious about his different skill bracket like most people were: she was laughing. She was happy just skating with Jeffery. That was so bizarre to him.

No one was just pleased to be with him. It was refreshing to have actual fun with somebody.

"Hey, I'm gonna get a drink, be right back!" She huffed, just almost out of breath. He shook his head," Not worried I'm gonna run off home while you're gone?" She scoffed," No you won't! I'll be keeping my eye on you young man!"

He arched a brow, watching as she zoomed off back to the entrance they came from. Silence, besides the occasional squeal of children aside him. He slowed down his pace, letting the low hum of rock music playing from the rundown speakers mello his brain out.

Maybe Rosswood wouldn't be so bad, actually...

"Jeffery!" A softer, less rude tone met his ears, and he turned, a frown on his face. Jane came up to him, except this wasn't the Jane he was becoming so accustomed to. It was Arkensaw.

She was very pristigue: long blonde hair tied back in space buns, an ivory boho shirt wrapped around her torso, and bright pink parashoot pants. She wore a lot of gold jewelry, but nothing could take your attention away from her chiseled face and beautiful bright eyes.

She wrapped her arms around his, chuckling sheepishly," Sorry, I'm not good on skates, I just saw you and... Well, I'm happy to catch you, I've been meaning to talk to you," She giggled softly, and he blinked." Ok..ay?"

With that answer, she continued," I wanted to apologize for my brother."

His brows furrowed. He kept a slow and steady pace, because no matter how much he hated Arkensaw he wouldn't forcefully make her eat dirt-- until she gave him a good excuse.

"Who? Sorry, I don't know what your talking about."

"Randy, he's my brother. I'm sorry, he doesn't have any manners, and is honestly such an asshole... And I heard about Liu, I hope you're alright. I may dislike Randy's behavior, but I would hate for him to be taken away."

Yup, the exact reason Jeffery didn't want to get out of the house just wandered up to him and slapped him across the face.

He smiled through his grimace," It's fine, he's the one who ended up on his ass." And left it at that, hoping she'd run off after hearing his tired tone.

But no, she instead pressed closer, smiling," Yeah, he was wasn't he! You're a lot stronger than you look,"

Where the fuck was Richardson... She better save him from whatever the hell this leech was trying to do,

"Thanks, I get that a lot." "And a little scary. I wasn't there myself, but Randy himself was saying you were pretty terrifying."

Oh? He smiled softly, amused just enough to let those words meddle in his brain." Funny."

"Oh, Arkensaw," Jane Richardson showed up behind them, and Jeffery felt a sigh of relief beg to be let out.
