Jeffery grumbles, turning back to his brother as he looked around the room." Nice, more work. Just what I needed." Liu shrugs, only finding the small closet door interesting now." Next room?" He says to his cheerful brother, who nods, and steers the way out of the room.
Jeff follows before halting in the hall as his brother jerked the door open. He unexpectedly got a piercing migraine, aching at the back of his head, while his stomach turned. He dismissed this small uneasy feeling, seeing it as a side effect of standing in the rain for too long.
Jeff follows where his energetic brother went, to find the larger bedroom." Yep, this one's mine," He teases, and Liu chuckles." Should we get the rest of the stuff from the car?" Just as if on cue, their father hauls in, a long sigh escaping him as his hands rest on his hips.
"Hey boys. Your mother just got the tea started."
He looks out the window, the only one that didn't have a blanket curtain, to see the sun shining again." Oh, how convenient." He grinned, turning to his - slightly smaller sons, who both already knew what was coming." You two, get started on unloading the truck, I'll be inspecting the bathroom. Turns out, the landlord didn't tell us about a septic problem."
Liu strikes a revolted face, as Jeffery makes his way out of the room without a word, just wanting to get this over with." Sir yes, sir! See ya dad," Liu spoke with a grin, and the man chuckles, patting him on the back." Alright, see you, kid."
Liu rushes down the stairs, attempting to catch up to his brother, who already stood at the moving truck, opening the back. The rain scarcely sprinkled on Jeffery's shoulders and head, as he eventually gets the back fully opened. All that was left was the furniture and a few boxes of their items.
Liu makes it out finally and frowns, glaring at the stuff inside while Jeffery hopped in with a sigh, hoping to just get it over with.
"God, we gotta get the couch too?" Jeff grins." What? Scared it'll smash you?" He grabs a light box, passing it to Liu." No," Liu makes a face of regret, as Jeffery fixes another light box onto his first. Jeff grabs heavier boxes for himself, and hops back out of the truck, a snarky smirk resting on his face." Whatever. These are the last boxes. Then we can bring in the mattresses if it's manageable for you." Jeffery leads him back inside, setting the boxes by the stairs." Alright."
They both return to the truck and start pulling out the mattresses, along with the bed sets. Jeff made sure to tip Liu's a bit, giving the older one quite the panic. Once they finished placing them on the stairs, they go back outside to start moving the heavier furniture, until Liu stops, staring at the tiny family that peered in the truck.
Jeffery makes it a point to make his footsteps heavier, letting the woman with long brunette hair know of his growing presence. She turns and smiles, ignoring the fact the other two kept gazing inside.
"Hi, you two must be the family moving in." She had a sweet voice, but Liu noticed the bitter undertone. The round man from before turns, a minor grumble escaping him as he stands near his narrow wife." Yup."
Jeff glares at the blonde boy with a neon red shirt, who found a notion to stare back with beady blue eyes. He stood behind his mother, while a cowboy hat rests on top of his crown. Jeffery bounces back into the truck, rolling up his sleeves once more to get them out of the way so he could drag out a chair.
He'll let his older brother deal with them.
Liu walks to the family, and smiles, already knowing Jeff wasn't going to engage in conversation." I'm Liu, and that's my younger brother, Jeffery. My parents are inside if that's who you were looking for." He greets, and Jeffery almost laughed at his composure, while he got one of the round chairs down from the truck." I'm Barbara Smith, and this is my husband, Greg."
