the first week basically flew by. before i knew it, it was friday. and since i only had classes monday through thursday, my weekend had already started.
so far i loved my routine. i'd get up at 8, take a shower, put on a cute outfit, and do my makeup while listening to music. it was peaceful and reliable. i could gather myself with no distractions. it was warm today so i decided to wear something summery, i knew winter was coming soon and i wanted to soak up the last bit of the warmth.

as i finished up my makeup, my phone buzzed.

me - yes!! just got done getting ready :)
ash - wtf it's not even 10 yet
me - oh come on!!! it's a routine!
ash - yea yea, whatever u say! do u mind if i come over to get ready?? miss u 💔

shortly after setting my phone down i heard a soft knock.
"hi ash," i smiled and opened the door for her to come in.
she had a makeup bag and a hair straightener.
"thanks for letting me come over to get ready, i was getting lonely in my room." she placed her belongings on my desk.
"yeah of course!" i pulled up a mirror for her, "hanging out after class just doesn't satisfy like spending a whole day with you does."
"awwww," she made puppy eyes as she searched through her bag for brushes.
i hopped up on my bed, looking down at her at my desk. "so party girl, any ideas for the weekend?" i hoped so bad she'd say yes.
"eh, i'm probably just gonna read ahead in my textbooks and get some homework done."
i starred at her, watching her uncap an eyebrow pen.
she met my gaze and with a straight face said, "oh my god, i got you so good." she laughed, "i'm totally kidding. of course i have ideas!"
i sighed, relieved. "oh wow, you really did get me good. i almost thought maybe we were in for a boring weekend."
"oh my god, no! i mean, the frat parties probably aren't starting yet but we can always see larry and sal!" ash had her eyes open wide, applying mascara.
