Layla stagers backwards and turns to leave but is pulled back by Ian.

"Wait I-" He starts but she turns to shove him back but he just grabs her wrists with one hand and the other on her waist pressing her back against a wall.

"Listen to me I don't mean any harm" "Shut up" she yells and he sighs.

Ian was here to apologise and see if he can work something out with Alair but Layla was getting on his nerves. "Layla-" he starts as she tries to put her knee between their body and they hear footsteps.

They watch as Alair walks in with her heels and car keys.

He slowly puts them down as he looks at the two, if he didn't know any better he would have assumed they were about to hook up.

Layla uses Ians distraction to her advantage as she head butts him in the nose and he curses as he lets her go and curses as she stumbles down, her dress around her spread up as she goes down.

Alair grabs Layla and helps her up as he pulls out his gun.

"Im just here to talk and apologize" Ian said with his hands up in surrender. Alair glares at him as Layla hugs his side. "Why were you touching her against her will if you only wanted to apologise" Alair asked as he loads his gun.

"She was about to run away and she wasn't listening so I-" Ian pauses. "-Im not used to not being in control" he said and Alair knew that the last part was true.

"I was hoping we can reconcile" Ian said and looked at Alair who looked down at Layla.

"Layla I want you to obey me right now" Alair said and she frowns at him but nods. "Good girl, go to the room and grab the files in my wardrobe behind the coats there is a hidden compartment. The pass code is your birthday" he said and she nods.

She blushed when he told her about the pass code, she hurried upstairs with a small smile. She goes to his wardrobe and checks behind the coat to find the compartment.

Alair lowers down the gun and points at the sofa, Ian goes and takes a seat as he looks at Alair who sits opposite to him. "I have something to offer" Ian said and took out an envelope from his coat pocket.

He handed it over to Alair who grabbed it and slipped out the papers, it was a contract that stated that Alair would receive a certain amount of shares of Ian's profit from legal businesses if he were to keep their partnership that involved common connections.

Alair looks at him, he wasn't dying for it but he wanted to avoid any conflict. Alair understood because he had been at this game for years more than Ian.

Layla walks down and finds a few papers in Alairs hands. She paused as she waited for them to say something so that she could understand the situation.

"I have an offer for you too-" they turn to Layla who had dropped the file he had asked her to get.

Alair looks at her and gets up and helps her gather the papers. She didn't want to think about it, she didn't believe for a second that he would do that to her. So she took a shaky breath and kissed his cheek.

"I'll let you handle it, um I'll be in the room." Layla said and he wanted to say something but he held back as he watched her leave.

He had seen the tears and apparently so had Ian.

He grabs the file and papers, he sat back in his seat as he held the file over his knees and leaned forward resting his hands on it. He looked at Ian who looked curious.

"I'll give you a chance to explain and to tell me what happened to Marianne" Alair said and Ian looks away as he ponders over it and nods.

He tells him about how Marianne had approached Ian.
