08- Brother is back

Layla runs and hugs him and he laughs as he hugs her back. Layla felt tears run down, "You are back" she whispered and nodded.

"I came back just now, got into the airport taxi right to your firm" he said and Layla smiles as she wipes her tears away. "So renovating or shifting?" He asked her as he looked around at the boxes.

Layla smiles, "I quit working here" she said and looked up at him. His eyes widened, "You are starting your firm now?" He asked and she nods. He grins and picks her up before turning her around.

"I'm so happy for you." He said as he put her down.

"I'll help you take these back home and then we can chill" he said and she nods. They put everything in her car and drive back home.

"So how's it going, how is Knox?" He asked and she grips the steering wheel hard. Her hands turning white from the grip.

"Layla did something happen?" He asked concerned and she nods. "I'll tell you all about it once we get home.

They walk in with the boxes and put it on the floor as Knox walks down from the room at the sound of the commotion.

"You didn't go to office today?" Layla asked and he shook his head. "Didn't feel like" he said and she noticed that his swollen and puffy eyes were now back to normal. She nods.

"Lewis it's been a while" Knox said and he grins. Lewis walked to Knox and pulled him in a hug.

Knoxs eyes widen he looked at Layla who looked away. "You are fine with what happened between me and Marianne?" He asked Lewis confused with the cheerful greeting.

Layla acts out the slashing throat with thumb to make him shut up but he doesn't.

Lewis looks at Knox and goes blank to hide the fact that he had no clue what Knox was talking about.

"Where is Marianne?" Lewis asked and Layla looks away to avoid Lewis's eyes that paused on her before moving back to Knox.

"Im sorry I fucked up I didn't know she was lying and I cheated on Layla it didnt-" Lewis hears him and freezes. He stops Knox with a punch to his jaw.

Knoxs head snaps to the other side as he stumbles back. "You did WHAT!" Lewis yells and Layla flinched.

Layla runs upto her room not wanting to be a part of all this.

They don't stop her as Knox looks down in guilt while Lewis glares at him in anger. Lewis grabs Knoxs collar and turns Knox to look at him.

Their height was the same so they stood face to face. "I can't believe you'd do that to my sister, to Layla qfter she got a job in your city just to stay close to you when she couldve been very successful in the other city and this is how you repay her? By fucking your bestfriend?" Lewis fumed at Knox.

He shoves him away after a few seconds and runs his hands through his hair. That's when Lewis remembers.

- will work if you just pass me the drug. I want a mild dose. He won't be able to control himself." Marriane said on the call.

Lewis had come to pick his stuff up from her apartment after they ended it because he was done with her and she had her eyes on someone else.

Lewis leans against the wall as he listens in to the conversation.

"Just keep it on the low. I'll be taking it regularly from you but if anyone finds out ill have you arrested for selling aphrodisiac drugs" she said and Lewis moved away.
