The next day was the day of the cello recital.
The whole family (including Schneider of course) arrived at the nursing home.

As soon as Amelia got down from the car, Alex grabbed her hand and dragged her with him, into the building and behind the so called stage.

"Can you slow down! I haven't even taken a breath Ale!" Amelia says, tanking her hand back and fixing her hair.
"I'm sorry, i'm sorry. I just need to go over this one part of the recital with you. I keep getting the chords mixed up."
Amelia looked at Alex and then around the room.

"Okay... then where's your cello?"
"Right. My cello. Let me go ask someone if they know where Mrs Aaron's is with our instruments." Alex looked around for his friends who were also in the recital, and walked towards them.

Amelia watched and noticed his face change from nervous to panic in the matter of a second and quickly made her way to the group.

"What? what's wrong?" Amelia said, placing a hand on his shoulder.

Alex turned around, "Mrs Aaron's van got a flat and she has all our instruments." Alex face palmed.

Before Amelia could respond, Alex once again grabbed her hand and dragged her back towards the audience.

"Mom!"
"Wha-What's wrong?" Penelope said with her eyebrows furrowed.
"Mrs Aaron's van got a flat, she was moving all the instruments." Amelia answered for him.

"I don't have my cello." Alex groaned
"I don't have my jello either!" and elderly man yelled from a few rows ahead.

"This sucks." Alex sighed, while Amelia put an arm around him and rubbed his back.

"Bad news everyone. No recital today" a man from behind the curtain says.

"I really wanted to show you in front of everybody. You never get to be here for my stuff."
Alex walked off to the side, with Amelia following shortly behind.

After a few minutes of waiting, Victor and Penelope grabbed a microphone each and walked to the front of the stage.

"Everyone, before you all leave. i happened to notice your karaoke machine. And we have a very special guest who's played..." Victor pauses to press play. "showers from Echo park to Afghanistan, Penelope Alvarez!"
Victor noticed Penelope's hesitation, "You got this. Let's give them a show." he said, turning her to face the crowd.
"Turn around" he sang and as if on cue, she turned.
"Every now and then i get a little bit lonely and you're never coming round!"

The two continued to sing, waiting for Schneider to return with all the instruments.

Four songs later, Schneider and the rest of the quartet ran in with instruments in their hands.
"Oh, and now, i couldn't be prouder to introduce the St. Bibiana String Quartet, starring cello superstar, Alex Alvarez!"
The crows cheered as they began to play.

After the recital, the Alvarez' and Amelia all went back to the apartment.

"Papito, you were the best one in that quartet. I mean, that's why they gave you the biggest violin." Victor shrugs then chuckles.

Alex smiles then turns to the dining table which laid his new ps4.
"Thanks, Can we set up my ps4 now?"
"I don't know. What do you say, Mamita?" Victor asked Penelope.

Penelope's nods in agreement.
Alex whispers a yes then high fives Amelia.
"But first, i have something for Elena. Um. yeah, i'm sorry about the doll." Victor says, referring to the barbie doll he gifted her the other morning.
"I know sometimes i  still think that you're a little girl. But you've changed." he says, pulling out papers from his pockets.
"And i haven't been so good at keeping up. But i want to." he passes Elena the paper and waits a few second for her to read it.

"A donation to Kiva... in my name!" Elena said in excitement.

Alex raised an eyebrow, "Why are you giving money to a guy named Kiva? When you could be giving money to a guy named Alex?" Alex questioned.

"And the guy named Alex' best friend Amelia?" the girl added on, earning a smile from the boy.

"Oh, kiva is an organisation that gives a loan to a small business in a developing nation. They're amazing! How did you know i would like this?" Elena said, turning her head from her brother to her dad.

"Well, i did a little research. And uh well, somebody told me you were... what was it?" Victor said, gesturing to Lydia.

"Annoying?" she replied, causing Victor to chuckle softly.
"A social justice warrior." he corrected.
"Same thing."
"Anyways, i don't know exactly how this works, but if we're ever in Tibet, we can visit a kickass yak dairy"

Elena squeals and hugs her Dad. "But we're still sharing the ps4. i like video games, too. Girls like video games, too. Don't you even." Elena says to her little brother.

Penelope looked between her kids, "i'm i'm too. i wanna Dance Dance Revolution!"
