After the guests went home, Penelope and Lydia went to talk to Carmen and Elena.
Meanwhile, Alex and Amelia cleaned up the dinner table and put away the decorations.
"That blonde chick forgot to take these with her." Alex says as he picks up the five bars of candy he was supposed to sell to her.
"At least you still got paid" Amelia says as she packs away the decoration box.
"you right, you right"
~ A few days later, Amelia went back to the Alvarez apartment to say goodbye to Carmen.
When she entered, Carmen and Elena were in a hug while everyone else stood around.
Amelia took her place in between Lydia and Alex.
"Okay, guys. i think it's time to leave." Penelope says which makes Elena let go and sit on the couch while Penelope hands Carmen a duffel bag.
"Carmen, this is my favourite duffel. It got me through war, and i'm pretty sure it'll get you through Austin. Inside are some shirts and jeans and i'm guessing you might be interested in my old combat boots."
"The ones i shined last week? Shut your face hole!" Penelope nods her head and smiles, "Yeah. And, um, it's not much, but it'll buy you a cauldron and a wand" She says as she hands the teen an envelope.
"I'm going to miss this" "I'm going to miss this too" The two wrap their arms around one another. "But know that you'll always have a place to park your broom."
Amelia and Lydia both walk over to Elena to comfort her.
"This is like when i had to say goodbye to my friends in Cuba. And my Papi said, 'keep it together for your Mami,or she will be so upset.' and then my Mami said, 'keep it together for your Papi.' So, be a good friend, mm? Think how difficult this must be for her. Sé fuerte." Lydia says as she kisses her granddaughters forehead and rubs her shoulder while Amelia did the same on the other side.
Amelia got up to say goodbye to Carmen when a knock came from the door. "Hey Schneider" Penelope greets. "Hi" "Thanks for taking me to the airport, and for buying the ticket." Carmen says. "God bless white guilt" Penelope laughs, "Or is it Canadian goodness?"
"Well, a little of both, eh?" Schneider says in his Canadian accent, he then switched back to his American accent, "Damn it!"
"Alex, give Carmen the candy." Amelia says as she judges her friend. Alex nods his head in agreement and holds out the candy, "Here you go, on me. Well, on the weird blonde lady who forgot to take them home."
"Thanks Alex" Carmen says to the boy. Once Alex had backed away for Amelia to say bye, a slight smile appears on Carmens face.
"I'll miss you bruja" She says as she hugs the teen. "I'll miss you too Amelia"
Lydia then gets up from the sofa and raises both her hands up to hug Carmen. "Thank you Señora"
Elena once again walks up to her best friend, "I'll text you from the airport." "Text me from Schneider's car" Elena says in a small laugh. "You know i will" Carmen says, holding back her tears.
After the two share one last hug, Carmen waves at the family and turns around to leave the apartment with Schneider.
Elena shuts the door behind them and turns around to see the two latina women and Amelia in tears. "I thought you said i was supposed to keep it together!"
Penelope sobs, "Well, she was talking about you" Amelia says as Penelope places her arm around her. "We can do whatever we want.
