{ Ashton }

Just like I promised Oakley, today was a day for her, Kay, and I. Oakley was excited. Kay and I on the other hand, are not excited to spend time with each other but excited to spend time with Oakley.

I pulled up to KayKay's and texted her that we were here, then took a glance at Oakley in the backseat who was happily eating her cake pop from Starbucks,

"Is it good?" I laughed,

"Mhm," Oakley grinned with a giggle as she finished it then handed me the stick. I put it in the small trash bag I had in the truck then turned my attention to KayKay who was getting in the passenger seat,

"Hi Mommy!" Oakley beamed from the back,

"Hi Oakley" Kay smiled then looked at me "Hey Ashton"

"Hey" I nodded back and started the truck and turned onto the road,

"So what are we doing first?" Kay questioned,

"Oakley has a dance class. I signed her up so she can meet other kids" I told her. Kay nodded. When Oakley was born we used to talk about all this stuff we could sign her up for. Dance class was one of those. But if she absolutely hates it, she doesn't have to go back. Honestly, I think she's gonna hate it, but it doesn't hurt to try. She's more into sports I think. She loves playing soccer with Calum.

"Daddy put music on" Oakley whined, breaking the silence in the car. I quickly leaned forward and turned the volume up, the Disney songs beginning to play through the car.

We got to the dance class and headed inside. I signed Oakley in and filled out the paperwork before we went into the little studio,

"Go on out there Oaks" I encouraged. She shook her head and leaned back into my legs,

"It's going to be fun Oakley" Kay tried next. Oakley just eyed me,

"Can you try it today? If you don't like it you don't have to come back" I assured. She nodded and let go of my legs. It took her a minute but she did walk out where the other kids were. Once I knew she was okay, Kay and I took a seat in the chairs along the side.

"She's not going to like this Ashton" Kay scoffed,

"Then she doesn't have to come back. That's what I told her. I just want her to try" I muttered. Kay laughed and shook her head,

"We're not fighting today" I spoke harshly, "All Oakley wants is to be with her parents together. We aren't ruining that by fighting"

Kay stayed quiet after that.

Once dance was over, Oakley ran over to us. It was hard to tell if she liked it or not,

"Did you like it Oakley?" Kay asked, beating me to it, as we headed back out to the truck,

"I dunno" Oakley shrugged, "Twy one more time?"

"We can try it one more time" I assured. She smiled and nodded, allowing me to open the back door and get her in her carseat.

Kay and I got in as well and I got back on the road,

"So what are we doing now?" Kay questioned,

"Want to take her to get her ears pierced?" I asked, knowing this is something I probably should have talked to Kay about, "She keeps asking. We might as well do it now"
