Speechless at the sudden compliment, Yoongi barely had time to shake her hand as she sprang to her feet and sent him a genuine smile. "We're not strangers you and I, right?"
"Um... no?"was all he managed to respond, incapable of making any sense out of the strange exchange they just had.
She seemed to wait for something and he stared at her in silence, his social skills once more proving to be non existent. A chuckle escaped her lips and he noticed the gorgeous dimples on each side of her lips.
"Your name?"she helped, her hand gripping onto the pole.
"Oh um, Yoongi."
"Cool. See you around Yoongi!"she waved and slipped past the open doors onto the platform, cheeks tainted with a slight blush.
Yoongi was left alone with the piece of paper holding a portrait of himself. His eyes trailed down the drawing where her hand had skillfully traced his face. Impressively well done.
He frowned at the depiction of his eyes. It dawned upon him how surprisingly alive they looked the way she'd drawn them.
"Can I just say, your eyes are strikingly beautiful." She'd stated very simply. No one ever told him that, people would compliment his facial features or his figure, but his eyes were known to be quite dull, a mix of dark colors that he'd never taken the time to distinguish precisely.
The way she'd pictured them were far from dull. They were lively, with a strange spark inside of them he was rather a stranger to. They said so many things it pulled him into deep thinking as to exactly what she saw inside his eyes.
He'd been too absorbed in his music to even notice her glancing at him to get the exact tracing. He was so eager to shut down the world around him whilst she took the opportunity to picture it, immortalizing an instant in a spare moment of time.
It reminded him of Hoseok, always seeing more to a person or a place, than there originally seemed to be. Giving a story to the dullest things. Just like she'd just done with his eyes. His mom used to scold him, saying he always seemed to be scowling or glaring at the camera on any family or solo pictures, even when trying to smile.
It was no secret that Yoongi had a negative perception of life. Rather than seeing the glass half full, he'd see it half empty.
Raised by a mother rather hard with her children and expecting a lot from them, he'd had it difficult, refusing to live up to people's expectations... He also learned one thing from his father high on debts and running away after twenty years of marriage: he couldn't trust people. He never expected good from people as to never be disappointed again.
Yoongi didn't hate his father, he just didn't care at all. His mother had never really supported his career as an artist, saying he'd never make enough money and get a good wife. Who cared? He wanted to live doing something he loved and he was just doing that.
Part time jobs were hard on him but despite having a negative nature, Yoongi was a driven person. He had a goal and he would pursue it until the end. He could read it in the eyes of his alter ego scratched down on paper with surprisingly striking details.
It drew a smile on his naturally smirking lips she'd rightfully so traced with her crayon, at the sight of the earphones carefully plugged in his ears. She'd even sketched the black beanie he often wore, just like today.
Somehow this drawing of a Yoongi he had trouble identifying to due to his negative vision of everyone including himself had made his day better and he slipped it in his bag with a smile. He kept in mind the sky blue eyes and the cute dimples framing the smile of a girl artist carrying the first light of morning as a name.
