"But professor, deadlines ruin all possible inspiration!"
"Well let's hope this time they make it come to you. You're dismissed.".
That piece of inspiration. She'd just found it. In the train. On her way to work. The young man had a strange expression, a mix of grave spark and lively seriousness. His eyes. His eyes were striking. They looked lost in the distance, probably even a little bored, and at the same time, wide open for the world around.
He had to be some kind of artist. His vision of the world was obviously different from the rest of the people present. It was hard to catch and it puzzled her, what might be going through his mind. She made sure not to stare and glance as discreetly as possible as to not be seen.
The music playing in his ears seemed to draw all his attention, his fingers tapping a silent rhythm on his lap, and apparently playing on an invisible keyboard.
Her own feet marked the beat of the song blasting in her ears.
There. Almost done. His lips made her squint her eyes a second longer. They had this slight curve, like a constant smirk, yet a gentle one. She marveled at the impressive amount of details hidden in that puzzling expression of his.
Some kind of peace. Like entering a foreign garden but it's comfortable. It was strange but almost familiar to look at.
There. Done.
She smiled at the result, surprisingly satisfied with it.
Yoongi looked up as the voice called the stop before his. His eyes locked with a pair of sky blue ones, already staring. Without looking away he leveled her with his impressive gaze as a few seconds ticked by.
They both suddenly looked away, pretending to look for a lost item, or scrambling through their bag. The train came to a stop and the girl sprang to her feet, swinging her satchel over her shoulder and storming out. His eyebrow ticked as his eyes followed her exit and he remained seated, feeling weird inside.
The next day he couldn't help but furrow his eyebrows as the same girl sat across from him in his usual car once again. Same for the day after. And the next day. And so on.
They kept meeting in the same car which both were too stubborn to leave, sitting across from each other.
It went as far as they expected each other's presence each morning but Sundays. The girl would almost everytime draw while sitting there, Yoongi noticed, always wearing extravagant outfits which screamed FANTASY ARTIST. At least that's what he thought of it.
A few weeks went by, it just became a habit, sitting in front of each other in the same car, at the same hours. It became a habit and actually turned into a pleasant thing. Having each other's presence in the morning and after work established a comfortable atmosphere, a newfound familiarity they strangely thrived in.
That day, the girl took her usual place in front of Yoongi who quickly gave her a nod of the head and plunged himself in his music, trying to find his inspiration.
As they neared the girl's stop, she suddenly leaned forward and her lips moved but he heard no sound. Slightly annoyed at the disturbance but intrigued at what she had to say, he paused his music and took out one of his earphones, giving her his weary attention.
"I drew you."she simply stated, handing him the drawing.
"Just thought you should know."
Without a word, Yoongi took the drawing from her hand and remained silent, staring at it for a good minute. Before he could say anything she spoke up again. "I'm Dawn by the way,"she said sticking out her hand. "And can I just say, your eyes are strikingly beautiful."
