THIRD PERSON'S POV
"Alam mo ba, Ate Shy. Ayang si Sam halos hindi na nagapahinga para lang matignan ka" kwento ni Ken sa nakakatandang kapatid ni Sam.
Shy just looked at her sister with a hint of worries on his eyes. Sobrang concern siya para sa kalagayan ng kapatid niya despite what happened to her.
"Wag ka maniwala dyan, Ate. Pati naman yan si Ken halos ayaw na maligo para lang mabantayan ka" Shy smiled at the both of them.
Ken's phone suddenly rang so he immediately checked it.
"Sam, Ate Shy, mauna na pala ako ha. May pinapagawa kase sakin sila Pablo eh"
"Ingat ka, Ken" Shy softly said saka kumaway sa binata.
"Chat me pag nakarating ka na ah!" Pahabol na sambit ni Sam bago makalabas ng kwarto si Ken.
The atmosphere began to grew awkward between the two sisters. Sam started playing with her fingers dahil hindi niya direktang matignan ang kapatid niya.
"Sam.." The moment Shy called his sister, hindi alam ni Sam but she bursted into tears with all her heart.
"Ate.."
"My sammie, lapit ka kay Ate" her sister asked her softly and opened her arms wide.
"Ate, I'm sorry. Sorry for being rude towards you, sorry kung naging selfish ako for thinking that I'll be good without you. Ate, please don't leave me like that again"
Sam tightened her hug towards her sister to show how much she was grateful that she was here with her.
Kung tutuusin eh masyado pa siyang maswerte to have her sister on her side, eh yung iba nga dyan halos wala nang pamilya sa tabi and wala rin kapatid. She must be so lucky.
"It's my fault. Kung sana mas maaga kitang pinatawad, hindi hahantong sa ganito"
"Here you are again, Sammie. Stop blaming yourself okay? Hindi mo kasalanan, and besides it was more important na andito na ulit ako diba?"
She was right. This is why she loves her sister so much kahit pa maliliit sila. She was always positive and had been a good sister to her.
"Hinding-hindi na kita papabayaan ngayon, Sam. Pangako ko yan sayo pati kila Papa"
Sam cried more nang marinig niya ang sinabi nito. So this is what it feels like to have a family besides you, kung sana mas maaga niyang natanggap ang lahat hindi sana siya lalaki sa galit at poot sa kapatid niya.
But now that she already learned her lesson, hindi na siya gagawa ng maling desisyon pa ulit. Sana.
"Don't cry na, Sammie. Tignan mo para ka nang basang sisiw dyan oh haha"
"Ate naman eh!"
They both laughed at each other bago muling magtanong si Shy.
"Kamusta nga pala kayo ni Ken?"
"Ate.."
"Hmm?"
"Is it okay with you?"
"Ang alin?"
"Si Ken"
Shy heaved a deep sigh before hugging her sister.
"Ken is a good guy, Sam. I can see all his efforts for you. I liked his sense of humor and personality. If you man na magustuhan mo siya, it's totally okay with me"
"Pero ate, what if.."
"What if ano?"
"What if gaya mo, masaktan ko rin siya? I can't handle that, Ate. Hindi deserve ni Ken yun"
Shy cupped her sister's cheek making her listen to what she'll about to say. Normal lang naman na maisip ng tao ang masaktan pag dating sa pag-ibig but it shouldn't stop you from loving someone.
"Sam, always remember that Love and Pain will always be connected with each other. Hindi mo malalaman ang totoong intensyon ng tao sayo kung hindi siya masasaktan"
"Kung nasasaktan man siya sa ginagawa mo, it means he loves you and he cares for you. Don't ever be afraid to love and feel pain. Kapag nagmamahal ka, hindi maiiwasang masaktan ka"
"I get it that you were overthinking right now pero that doesn't enough to stop loving someone. Just always remember na if ever nasaktan ka, it's okay. At least it teaches you a lot of lessons"
"If ever you're hesitating, give your self nore time to think and don't ever rush yourself"
"You two deserved happiness, Sam. Don't let that thought of yours stop you from reaching your own happiness. You understand?"
"Ganito pala yung feeling na may ate kang concerned sayo" Sam suddenly blurted out.
"Matagal ko nang gustong magpaka-ate sayo, Sam. I'm sorry man if I came late"
"No ate, thank you for coming back. Sabi nga nila, better late than never diba?"
"I love you, Sammie. Don't be afraid to tell me everything that bothers you" Shy said bago muling yakapin ang kapatid niya.
"Mahal din kita ate. Same to you, kung may nanakit sayo, dadaan sakin" Shy smiled at her sister bago guluhin ang buhok nito.
"Laki laki mo na. Naiinlove na"
Sam blushed at her sister's sentence.
"Ewan ko sayo ate, halika na. Kumain na tayo, nagluto ako ng sinigang para sayo"
Sam finally felt how to be genuinely happy. Gaya nga ng sabi ni Shy, okay rin namang masaktan at least it taught you a lot of lessons in life.
