Bucky parks the car in front of a massive White House, the lawn was super tidy with beautiful flowers and little lights on either side of the pathway to the house "this is unbelievable" I say shocked, I get out of the car and stand in front of the house "are you the new neighbours?" A tall lean blonde woman approached us, she looks down at me checking out my outfit which consisted of leggings and crop top "yes we are" I say with a smile "long trip?" She asks and I nod "I am Angela Priestly" she says putting her hand out "it's a pleasure to meet you. I am Grace Cambridge and this is my husband Joey" I blurt out shanking here hand, Bucky joins us and also shakes her hand. I noticed that he has put on gloves "cold?" Angela asks "Germaphobe" Bucky replies "well we will be having a dinner party tomorrow for the neighbourhood, my husband Gerard is a real estate agent and he just got an amazing promotion" Angela brags
"Well congratulations to your husband, we should really get inside" I say with a smile, I grab some of my suitcases and Bucky grabs his as we head inside of the house "Joey?" Bucky asks "what was I gonna call you? The Summer soldier?" I say before laughing a little too hard "you're a dork" Bucky says trying to hold back his own laughter "we might have to sleep on the same bed, I'm sure that whoever it is we are looking for will spy on us to make sure we aren't a threat" Bucky says and I nod "I have no problem with that. I am wondering though, if Mr Stark thought to give us some booze" I say while looking through the very stocked up kitchen "can you cook?" Bucky asks "what?" I ask "do you know how to? Because I have no idea" Bucky says and I laugh "I wish, I was in captivity for practically my whole life I never got the chance to learn. But I have a phone and I have YouTube so I will wing it. Ah ha" I say happily finally finding a bottle of whiskey
"Want a glass Barnes?" I ask and he nods, I pour us a drink and lean against the wall "V?" I ask "yea?" Venom replies "you've been really quiet in there" I say "I am deciding who I like more" Venom says and I roll my eyes "and your singing in the car has relaxed me very much" Venom says and I smile "well I am glad V" I say taking a sip of my drink "should we take a look around?" Bucky asks and I nod, we walk around the house which had two large bedrooms upstairs, one of which had a balcony facing the beach, out back there was a big swimming pool and steps that led directly to the beach "that's where I'll be tomorrow" I say pointing to the beach while leaning against the railings of the balcony
"you like the beach?"
"Always loved it"
"Did you go often?"
"No, but when we did, my sisters and I would have an amazing time together. Everything was so simple then and then my dad gave us away"
"Sounds like a dick"
"He was" I say before glancing over at Bucky then back at the beautiful dark beach, the moon reflecting against the calm sea "I don't know much about you" I say "there's not much to know" Bucky replies "you're not just an angry guy with a metal arm Bucky, there's always something to know" I say bringing my cup to my lips "there wasn't much to me, I was a soldier and as you probably know the womaniser of the two best friends" Bucky jokes and I nod with a laugh "I fought against Hydra and got captured by them, Steve saved me and we carried on fighting together against them until I fell out of a moving train. Steve thought I was dead but Hydra found me, gave me this and then brainwashed me so they could use me as their personal weapon" Bucky says "I know the feeling" I say with a small nod
"And then Steve got me out and I've been with the avengers ever since, I did horrible things and I don't even remember them" Bucky says "you don't deserve to have to relive those terrible things you were forced to do" I say and Bucky nods "I'm going to um shower" Bucky says and walks away "he's having a hard time opening up" Venom says "I know, it's like he's scared that I'll use it against him" I say "you won't" Venom says "of course not" I reply "I have been thinking about what Steve said" Venom says "you don't have to worry, he won't hurt us" I say "I'll make sure he doesn't Angelina" Venom warns "he wouldn't" I say "I hope so" Venom replies
I find another bathroom in the house and have my own shower, get changed into some pyjamas before meeting Bucky back in the bedroom where he lays on the double bed shirtless "can I ask you something?" I ask once I've laid down "depends" Bucky says and I turn to face him "why did you put gloves on?" I ask "some people aren't as opening to the idea of having a metal arm instead of two real ones" Bucky replies "it's nothing to be ashamed of Buck" I say touching his metal arm, he clears his throat and moves so that he's on his back "we had a long ride, maybe we should get some sleep" Bucky says "okay" I say "we will be home in no time you know? It won't be so bad" I say "I know" Bucky replies and I nod even though I know he can't see me . It doesn't take long for sleep to finally take over my exhausted body
