I heard the door open and someone walks up to the counter "Wellcome to music avenue what can I get for..." I took my eyes off my book and looked at the person in front of me, my customer service face quickly changed to a shocked one as I saw who was in front of me

Evelyn's POV

The only day I had to work behind the counter, out of all the people in the world, he had to be the one to walk into the store

"welcome the music avenue what can I get for... you"

The guy who almost burned my face off last night, right in front of me, and the worst part is that he saw my face, so he probably knows what I look like, and by the look on his face, I'm pretty sure he knows, also the burn mark on my face might be a big giveaway, now the question is... what the heck do I do know?

My boss is in the back and she can hear everything I say, so I can't do anything drastic because I might get in trouble or worse fired, my brother is doing an inventory check to see if we got everything this morning, I don't know where the heck Zoe is or why she hasn't come back yet, so there was one thing left, I put my best customer service face on and I clear my throat a bit as I pull my glasses up and say...

"what can I get for you today?"

I could see he was I bit shocked, I honestly don't know why, he blinked a few times and then he started speaking " sorry about that" he puts a pack of guitar strings on the counter "it's just this" I took a note of his accent, sounds Irish

I took the strings a scanned the bar code, giving him a few glances, but now in the daylight, I could get a better look at his features, and not gonna lie, he was very good looking, but I could tell that we were both very uncomfortable, when the register was done processing the barcode the price was shown on the screen

"Your total is $20.37, cash or card?" I say in my best 'im happy to be here and I don't know you at all' voice, which was difficult because neither of those was true

He hands me a credit card and I swipe it at the register and I hand it back to him, after it was done processing the option for a printed receipt appeared on the screen "would you like a receipt?" I asked him

"Um no that's ok" I pressed the 'no' option on the screen and the purchase was completed, I handed the packet back to him

"Thank you for your purchase, have a wonderful day," I said with a very forceful smile, he looked at me and smiled as he turned around and walked away and when he left I let out a sigh, I decided I would talk to Nico about this when he gets back and figure out what we should do next

Later that day I was on my break so I decided to take a walk, my break was 45 minutes long so I had enough time to walk around and get a coffee or something, but as I was walking down the street I had a feeling someone was watching me, it was this tingle on the back of my head, like a 6th sense, I turn around but no one was there, so I keep on walking but the feeling didn't go away

I turned around the corner and found the coffee shop, I went inside and ordered my coffee, since I was still tired from my lack of sleep I just ordered a black coffee, I took 3 packs of sugar and as soon as I got my coffee I walk out of the store, I walked near an alleyway and leaned against the wall with my coffee on my hands, I took the lid off my cup of coffee and started pouring the sugar in, I didn't have anything to mix it with so I put the lid back on, I put my finger on the small hole of the lid and started shaking the cup on my hand, I did that for a few seconds and then I took a sip of my coffee then I looked around to see if anyone was nearby, when I was sure no one was near I poked my head into the alleyway and saw him, "Boo!" I said as I see the guy from earlier, I knew there was someone following me

"Hello," I say as I give him an innocent smile, I put my coffee on top of the lid of the garbage bin, he looks at me with a shocked expression, I looked down to see the flying talky cat with him "I see you brought the talking cat with you" i could see the offended look on the cat's face, I took a few steps so now I'm standing in front of him

"Now, who are you? And why are following me?" he doesn't say anything, but he didn't have to, cause he knew that I knew someone was behind me, I didn't want to turn around, I didn't have to, he was pointing something at me, I don't know what it was but I didn't care, I look at the guy who was smiling in front of me and smile back

"Well played, but sadly not that well" I grabbed the arm of whoever was behind me and flip him over my shoulder, and falls on the other one, before any of them could react I use one of my incantations

"interminus nocti sluumberso" my hands glowed red as I said the spell and almost immediately the three of them fall asleep, I noticed the guy behind me was the other guy from the other night, I sigh as I took out my phone, I wanted to call my boss and tell her that something came up, Zoe was probably already at the store, I grabbed my coffee and took a gulped whatever was left of it, this was gonna be a long day

I texted my brother to meet me at home as soon a he got out of work, the two guys, plus the cat were still under my sleeping spell, I tied them both to a chair in the kitchen with magic ropes just to make sure they won't escape and the cat was sleeping soundly on the counter, I was leaning against the door frame while looking at them then, then occasionally at the ropes as they slightly glowed red, and then back at them, and I really did not know what to do, you might be surprised but this was my first time holding someone hostage, I heard the door open and I already knew it's my brother

"Evelin? Where are you?" I heard my brother yell

"In the kitchen!" I yell back, I hear footsteps coming from outside of the kitchen, the Nico walks in

"Hey what's wro- WHOA!" my brother stopped on his track as he saw the two guys tied up in the chairs

"Are those..?"

"Yep"

"And are they...?"

"If they were dead I wouldn't have tied them up" I roll my eyes "I used my sleeping spell, they should be waking up any time soon" I looked at my phone to check the time, and right on cue the guy with the blue hair started to move "right on time"

Blue haired guy opened his eyes but his head was still hanging low

"It's about time," I said as he looked up and boy was he shocked to see the both of us, I tilted my head slightly to the side

"That was quite the nap you took there"
