Author's Note: Happy birthday, Levi!!!!!!!!! Technically, I still have a few more hours before December 25th, but for those of you in different time zones, I decided to post this a little early. Regardless of where you're at, I hope you all have a merry Christmas!

You awoke bright and early on December 25th, excitement coursing through your veins. Silently, you tilted your head to face Levi, who was still sleeping next to you. Unable to help yourself, you broke into a grin at the sight of his peaceful expression, his slightly parted lips, his dark eyelashes resting against pale cheeks. It wasn't often that you woke up earlier than he did, but today was special.

You got out of bed slowly – careful not to disturb him. He was an incredibly light sleeper, though he was at least getting a little more rest now that the two of you were sharing a bed. Feeling your warm and loving presence at his side helped assure his subconscious that he was safe, helped keep his nightmares away – though they still hadn't stopped completely.

Thankfully, he seemed to be sleeping soundly today, which gave you the opportunity to stealthily get things ready. The two of you had been dating for almost a year, and this was the first of his birthdays you would spend as a couple. Thus, you had put a lot of effort and planning into making it perfect, because he deserved nothing less. You'd even made the few Scouts who were still lingering around HQ celebrate Christmas yesterday, so today could be fully devoted to Levi.

There would be a party for him later, but this morning was reserved for just the two of you. Quietly, you made your way around the kitchenette attached to his quarters (one of the perks of his rank), getting things ready for breakfast. However, you didn't start cooking yet, wanting everything to be hot and fresh for him.

Not long after you slipped out of bed, you heard the soft sounds of Levi entering his bathroom and shutting the door. A few minutes later, he made his way into the kitchenette, teeth brushed and hair combed. He was unfailingly diligent about his morning routine, even when he had the day off, like he did today.

"Happy birthday, Levi!" you chimed as you rushed over and wrapped him in a hug.

"Tch," he hissed into your ear, though the sound didn't hold any bite. One of his arms slid around your waist, tucking you close while he uttered, "Is that what day it is?"

You pulled back just far enough to place a kiss on his cheek, then his lips – capturing them in a slow, tender cling. He melted for you instantly, his movements still a bit groggy from sleep, but welcoming nonetheless. His free hand found your hip, his thumb tracing small arches while your mouths plucked softly before diving right back, again and again, wanting to draw out and cherish this moment with each other.

After a minute, you gently pulled away. "Want some tea?" you murmured, holding his gaze with a loving one of your own while your fingers brushed soft strokes through his undercut.

"Sounds great," he replied, looking at you as if you were the most beautiful thing in the world.

You smiled and detached yourself from him, letting your fingers linger as they brushed over his own. "I'll make it," you stated. "You sit and relax."

Levi nodded gratefully and made his way to the small table for two. However, as he took a seat, he noticed the many utensils and ingredients laid out in the kitchenette, and his brow furrowed. "What's all this?" he muttered.

"While you drink your tea, I'm going to make you breakfast," you informed him happily, your eyes trained on the kettle as the water began to boil.

A slight frown pulled at his lips. "You don't have to do that."
