Jisoo dumps her bloody gloves and surgical gown a little too harshly- she had just operated on an 8 year old girl who was victim of a hit and run, she almost didn't survived given that her body is young but somehow the little girl managed to hold on, Although she's still in critical condition she's going to survive- Jisoo is making sure she will.
Usually she wasn't affected by the gory stuff but an 8 year old? come on! Drive with your fucking eyes.
And to add to her bad mood her mom pulled a few string with the board of the hospital she works on and managed to get her to come to New York as the representative for the annual fundraiser.
"You're sending me?" she asks the chief of surgery again
Chaerin Lee- who couldn't have cared less if Jisoo begged her to not send her- nods
"Why?" she persist on the topic
"Because your parent's are part of the board and you apparently- haven't visited for a long time"
Jisoo scoffs, "If they want to see me, maybe they should leave their ego in New York and come to Seoul"
"Great. You can tell her that yourself when she meets you at the fundraiser"
Knowing she lost the battle she gathered her things and packed up for New York but not before she talked to the doctor who's in care of the 8 year old she just operated on earlier
"Kang" she calls the bear-looking doctor, "the 8 year old patient that's been transferred to you-"
Seulgi cut her off with a wave, "I got it, I'll make sure she's awake before you come back"
Jisoo narrows her eyes at the other doctor, "Not what I was about to say- Just take care of her and have you talked to the parents?" she asked
"Nope- parent's are MIA just the aunt, she said the mom is in some business trip in New York"
"Great. Just fucking perfect" she says to no one in particular, "just take care of her"

Jisoo tapped her foot repeatedly on the floor waiting for her turn to customs, she checks her phone for the nth time to see if Seulgi has any updates on her patient- it wasn't exactly an update.

She rolls her eyes as she slipped pass customs- before she could check her phone on who's picking her up she sees a huge sign with her name along with a few baby pictures she made an effort to forget- holding the sign is Jennie Kim
Jennie Kim is an old friend from when she lived in New York to study for college, now she's a lawyer and decided to permanently stayed overseas
"Welcome back to empire state" Jennie greets her with a massive bear hug
"More like hell- and where did you get those photos?"
"Manoban emailed them to me"
Jisoo raised an eyebrow, Manoban is Lisa Manoban- another college friend, she and Jennie used to date on and off through college until they decided to permanently separate when Lisa moved back to Thailand and pursue her career as a photographer slash choreographer
"How's that doing? Still in denial?"
Jennie scoffs, "We're not in denial- what we had is over- we've been over this"
"We have- but am I supposed to ignore the fact that you haven't been in a serious relationship since Manoban?"
Instead of answering Jennie shoved her to the exit, "Save the attitude with you parents"
