Moments after the incident were spent in a frenzy. The venue staff called in for police and the ambulance while the guests who were at the venue looked for their escape. At that moment, no one cared that Daniel Edwards was married. No one was interested to know whom he married. The trusted media reporters who were there to find details about the wedding to publish later now scratched for an exclusive in the scenes they were witnessing.

Daniel had not moved at all. He had gone still just as Hoorain had, in his arms. His mind was blank and in all this time he had not said a word. Amy and Hoorain's family just looked on helpless and shattered. These two didn't have it easy from the beginning and nothing was changing for them even now. Despite all the hurdles they had overcome, Daniel and Hoorain yet again found themselves in a situation which tried to separate them.

Within minutes, the ambulance arrived, and the emergency medical staff came over to see the patient who was in urgent need of care. Daniel moved on their call but remained still while his eyes set on his most loved one. After doing all the imminent checks, the medical staff shifted her on the stretcher and carried her away towards the ambulance. All Daniel could do in all this was just watch. The helplessness that he felt that very moment was beginning to kill him from within.

The last time it was him who got carried to hospital in a very similar state. Back then, Hoorain had to see him go through it all. This time it was his turn, and he wasn't as strong as she was. He felt like his world came crumbling down and he had nothing in his power to build it all up again.

The man responsible for all this havoc had escaped the scene almost instantly. No one noticed him running away either. When he had pulled that trigger and, in the time, he took to leave the venue, no one was around to notice him. But even the most careful and experienced culprits have days where they make mistakes. Today was one of those days for Sajid. The mobile phone that he had used to call Bushra Begum and the phone which had all the details stored of what he did, where he lived, was on the marble floor of the room he used to attack Hoorain.

"The bullet has damaged the area nearby her liver. Although, we have taken it out through the surgery, the loss of blood and initial damage has affected her response to the surgery. She is still unconscious, and we do not exactly know when she will wake up. The next 48 hours are crucial, if there are signs of her responding to the treatment, then I am hopeful she will recover. But if..."

"But if?"

The surgeon paused for a mini second, but Daniel interrupted her with a further question. Dr Seren could see the worry on his face and also on the faces of the family members that accompanied him to the hospital.

"Yes, as I was saying, if she doesn't respond to the treatment then really, I am anticipating that she might go into a coma. But like I said, the next 48 hours are crucial for her. Any sign of recovery is a sign of hope and good news. We are trying our best."

Mirha sighed in concern as Laiba and Suleiman tried to console her after listening to what the doctor had said. Amy's eyes turned over to Daniel who took three steps backwards in fear, worry and helplessness – all at the same time – while also looking towards the door that had just closed in front of him. It was the intensive care unit.

She was inside. Somewhere. Somewhere in one of those rooms. Hoorain was there.

The next moment his phone vibrated grabbing his attention. It was a text from Colin.
