SPRING 1984 - SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA
"Dennis, are we there yet? I don't know how much longer I can take this car-ride," I loosely admitted while impatiently squirming like a fish out of water.
"Just a few more minutes baby," he reassured me with a small rub on my thigh. This action alone made me jump in fear.
A camping trip doesn't seem like the most romantic thing you could do for a one year anniversary but in his eyes, it was 'perfect'. I didn't mind at all, considering that he promised to make tonight as romantic as he possibly could. However, his thought of romance greatly contrasted from mine.
After arriving at a campsite in Sacramento, we unpacked our belongings and he instructed me to rest while he set up the tent.
