"Serenity, why didn't you tell me your birthday is in a week?"
"A week and a half actually."
"Still. Why didn't you tell me?"
I sigh, finishing arranging the birthday gift for Asteria. We'll all soon be leaving for New York for Asteria's birthday party. "Because I honestly forgot about it. I actually didn't realize it was a couple of days away until my sister brought it up yesterday."
"Okay, well now that we've established why you didn't tell me . . . what will you want for your birthday."
"I already have everything I need, Elijah."
Apart from wanting William Wright dead.
"Bullshit. What do you want to do for your birthday?"
"I want to get a tattoo." I finally say after staying silent for a while. I've been wanting to get our daughter's name tattooed on me but I hadn't gone around to doing it. Plus I haven't figured out where I want it.
"Done. Anything else?" Before I could get a word out, he cut me off. "Actually don't answer that because I have a feeling you will say you don't want anything else so I'll just take matters into my own hands."
"Should I be scared?" I ask, going into the closet to grab a change of clothes. I then realized he hadn't answered my question. "Elijah!" I yelled, hoping he heard me. My phone lit up and I grabbed it and saw he sent me a text.
Elijah: No, you won't be scared, rather excited actually. But you could also be screaming my name like at the end of the night too.
Memories flood my mind back to the night we slept together for the first time in a long time. I'm not gonna lie, it was amazing and I'm starting to miss it now that he's brought it up.
