Jessie

After me and Leo calmed down, I went back to reading and he got ready.

He put on a different black suit and his black shoes. I brushed his hair and teeth and grabbed his phone.

"Don says there's a dinner tonight, everyone is coming." Leo informed me in a normal voice.

"Ok, what time?" I asked.

"6:00 but we both have paper work to do." He replied.

Why the hell do we need to do paperwork in the mafia?

"Ok." I sighed standing up from my spot on the couch and walking over to my closet which someone had put all my clothes from my bag in yesterday during the meeting.

I grabbed some black cargo pants and a skin tight black tee. I put them on and tucked the tee-shirt into the pants.

I went to the bathroom and put my hair in a low ponytail and threw on some concealer and mascara before Leo and I left the room to go to the workspace located on the main floor.

The elevator ride was ok. I was terrified all morning that Leo was going to ask about my nightmare last night, and why I was so scared.

All the worrying kept making my think about my parents. I couldn't take my mind off them.

It was the worst.

The elevator dinged and we both left it. We walked side by side keeping our heads straight and faces emotionless.

We strutted passed everyone on the main floor and went straight to the workplace.

There were desks and the room was lit only by day light.

We sat down at different desks and were searched for our work.

Of course, it was there in the top drawer on the left.

I don't know who put this work here but somehow they knew exactly where to put it.

We both got to work, signing different papers and filling out different forms.

I heard a ding come from Leo's phone. He pulled it out of his pocket and read the message that was sent for him.

"They need us downstairs, some fucker keeps lying." He looked over at me before standing up from his desk chair.

"Sure." I complied and followed immediately after him.

We went down a long hall of stairs before we reached a black door with a key pad.

Leo looked at his phone once more then added in a code to the keypad.

It beeped showing a flash of green before opening the door.

We walked in and a horrible scent filled my nostrils. I almost gagged at the smell.

Leo and I walked down a long hall before turning into a room.

In the room was a man. He was tied up to a chair and he was covered in blood and bruises.

There was a single light bulb shining above him and he was groaning through the duct tape that was covering his mouth.

"He stole money from us but won't say who sent him." A man beside the door whispered to us.

"Ok. Leave." Leo demanded of the man.

The man quickly scurried off. Both I and Leo stayed armed 247. With a pistol and a switchblade around his waistband. I kept my switchblade strapped to my thigh and my gun on my belt.
