"Lancey?"
Tinigil ko ang pag-aayos ng aking damit at lumingon sa pinto ng aking kwarto. Sumilip si Raelle mula roon.
"What are you doing here?" I asked and continue what I'm doing which is decluttering my clothes. "It's Saturday, isn't it?"
"Uhm...can I come in?" She said in a low voice.
"Of course—" I gave her my emotionless look. "—no."
She frowned and stay at her position. "I came here because I have a job for you. Aren't you interested?"
"What makes it interesting?" Umalis ako sa harap ng closet at lumabas ng kwarto. "Am I going to strip?" Dagdag kong tanong habang pababa ng hagdan. Nakasunod lang siya sa akin.
"As if naman you would strip, 'no."
"So?" I sat on the sofa. "What kind of job are you offering?"
"Before all that...do you have food?" She pouted. "Xena finished all the cupcakes Drishti made. Hindi man lang siya nagtira para sa akin! That was so rude!"
I sigh. "Raelle, don't waste my time listening to your complain. I don't f*cking care about that cupcake or Xena. Just tell me the job already."
She tsked and cross her arms. "You are so impatient."
I know right.
"Go to building A, floor 3 later. If the guard stops you, tell him you are send by me."
Inirapan ko siya. "Tell me what kind of job it is."
She shrug her shoulders. "I honestly don't know what it is all abo—"
"What the hell, Raelle?" Hindi makapaniwalang bumalik ang tingin ko sa kan'ya. "Lumayas ka na nga lang rito sa pamamahay ko."
"Wait muna." Pigil niya. "Hear me out first, will you?" Huminga siya ng malalim. "I got a call from someone last night. Actually, dalawang trabaho ang inoffer niya pero si Drishti ang na-assign sa isa—"
"And why me for the other one? Pwede namang ikaw?"
She smiled. "Pwede ngang ako pero pwede rin namang ikaw. Kaya nga ako nandito, 'di ba? Basta pumunta ka lang doon at sabihin ang pangalan ko."
I rolled my eyes. "What time?"
"7 PM." Tumayo siya. "Be there on time, okay?"
Akala ko aalis na siya pero dumeretso siya sa kusina at bumalik sa sala nang may dala ng pagkain. "Kukunin ko 'to, ah?" Tukoy niya sa pudding. "Bye."
