Chapter Twenty Two
November just came by so quickly and so far ay malapit na kami sa pag re-rehearsal ng last scene ng kwento namin para sa play. Today is December 8, and Miguel and Jean decided to put on hold our rehearsals since malapit na rin ang Christmas vacation. We will just return on rehearsing pagbalik namin sa January.
"Malapit na birthday mo, what's your plan?" I asked Rusty habang nakaupo kami sa couch sa sala namin at nakain ng strawberry ice cream. Maaga siyang pumunta dito sa bahay para sunduin ako at sabay na kaming pumasok.
"Nothing in particular." He briefly answered.
"Hey! Let's plan something to do on that day! It's our first time celebrating it together." I said to him. Nilapag naman niya ang ice cream niya sa center table saka humarap sa akin.
"Okay!" He answered smiling all ears and being excited this time.
"Alright!" I beamed and get my notebook and pen sa tote bag ko na nasa tabi ko lang.
"So, the date is December 20 and it's Friday," I said as I write the day of his Birthday. "Do you have any plans in mind?" I asked him.
He didn't answer right away and just touch his chin like he was thinking thoroughly about the answer he'll give to me. I waited for him to finish thinking dahil birthday naman niya itong pina-plano namin.
"You think Mimi will allow you if I asked you to go to the beach?" He asked.
"Tayong dalawa lang?" I asked him.
"Well..." He answered while shrugging his shoulder.
"I don't think they would mind," I answered him. "Though, won't you think it would be nice if isasama natin sila Migs, Luhan, Hannahrie at Janssen?" I asked him again.
"Well, okay lang din naman. Mas maganda rin naman na mag outing kapag marami." He said kaya naman tumango ako sa kaniya.
"Okay, so we'll go to the beach on the day of your birthday together with the others," I repeated as I write it down on my notes.
"I have a suggestion." I smiled at Rusty as a bright idea pop on my mind. Napangiti ako dahil naiisip ko pa lang ay alam ko na agad na matutuwa si Rusty dito.
"Hmmm..." He hummed as he rest his head on my shoulder. Umayos naman ako ng upo para maging kumportable kaming dalawa sa pwesto namin.
"Let's make salubong on your birthday. Let's have dinner at your house, just the two of us." I told him. Napaayos naman muli siya ng upo. "Then, I'll stay there cause basically, we will leave at midnight," I added.
Nag-aantay ako sa response niya pero tanging ngiti lang ang binigay niya sa akin. I have to slightly slap his hand para sumagot siya.
