The Assembly

An expectant hush fell upon the assembled Gods as a resplendent Form materialised.
'Perhaps someone would like to say a few words' the Form enquired matronly.
Gods don't have boots, but if they did, they were all looking in that direction.
'Let's begin' continued the Form irritably, breaking the awkward silence.
The ethereal Form stretched out into the Universe and curled a wispy tendril around a star locally known as the Sun. The Form paused for dramatic effect and then, with a flourish, extinguished it.
A relieved gasp arose from the Gods.
The Form whispered wryly, 'at last, some peace'.
