I feel like this summer is going by so fast. Four weeks have already gone by!
We've checked on the document once already. Today we go back again.
I skip showering this morning. I know it's gross but I'm in a hurry. Julia has to leave soon, but she wants to check on it too.
I quickly get dressed into a pink "I Woke Up Like This" T-shirt. I put on some jean shorts. I walk into my mom's room and tell her where I'm going. I don't tell her about the document, just say I'll be in the woods. She mumbles something I can't understand, but I'm already to the front door. As soon as my fingers touch the knob to open it, somebody knocks.
It's Julia. We run as fast as we can to Ashley's house. She's waiting on her front porch. "Let's get this over with so we can have time to roller blade before Julia goes to gymnastics," Ashley says. So we run to the woods.
After seeing the woods at Ashley's house and the beautiful land, my woods look super crappy. Everything was so neat and well kept over by Ashley's house. This here, behind my house, is not the same.
We follow the same routine. Cross the ditch, run through the clearing, find the six trees, dig out and rebury the chest, go down into the secret bunker.
Now Ashley types in 7492 into the chest that holds the document.
The chest swings open. "See? It's still there. Nothing to worry-" But Ashley stops talking as we all look into the chest.
The document is gone.
