I was hesitant to answer the phone because I didn't know what he wanted. It was late and I was ready to go home. I hadn't spoken to him in three days so it was weird that he was calling me. But I decided to answer the phone even though I knew that I shouldn't. Maybe he had found some new information that he wanted to tell me about his case. But still, I figured that it could wait. I pressed the phone to my ear and said hello waiting for him to speak.
"Are you at home?"
"No, I'm on my way home now. Why, what's going on?" I was ready for him to get to the point. I didn't understand why he was wondering if I was at home or not. If he thought that he was going to come over tonight, he was sadly mistaken.
"I need you to do me a favor. Come pick me up, I'm at the bank on Lily street."
I didn't understand why he was asking me to pick him up when he had a car. What the hell did he take me for? "No, I'm going home. It's late and I'm tired. I have to work tomorrow and I'm not about to be your errand girl for tonight. Good night, Nico."
"I have some information that can help my case. I couldn't drive my car because I didn't want to be followed. You're my lawyer and you're supposed to be helping me. Come get me, now."
I took a deep breath and ran my fingers through my hair. "Fine, I'll be there in ten minutes. Please stay where you are because I don't feel like hunting you down tonight."
He told me that he was going to stay where he was and he ended the call. I was annoyed with him right now because I didn't want to see him until Friday. It was great that he was gathering information for his case but now he had me working outside of my working hours. This was the last favor that I was doing for him.
