~ Part Six ~

"NNOOOO!!!" the desperate cry from Balin rang out and brought Ellía out of her vision. She snapped her eyes open and sucked in a few deep breaths. "Thorin!" Dwalin shouted and tried to crawl out of the tree to help him, but his branch broke and made him cling soon tightly.

Ellía blinked her eyes hard a few times and looked out to see Azog's warg tossing Thorin from its bone-crushing jaws and causing him to slam into a flat boulder. Ellía begged every Valar she could think of, for Thorin to stand up and fight, but the dwarf king did not move. "Bring... the... head." she heard Azog growl to another orc, who happily jumped off of his warg with his blade drawn.

It seemed as if Ellía's body moved on its own as she mustered her remaining strength and pulled herself out of the tree and crept forward. She crouched low to the ground, hiding in the tree branches, out of everyone's sight as the orc lined its blade up with Thorin's neck, drawing cries of desperation from the company. Ellía took a deep breath and steadied her shaking hands before launching herself at the orc, once he had raised his blade above his head.

"Ahhhh!!" She yelled and tackled the orc to the ground and unsheathed one of her blades. They tumbled to the ground and she climbed on top of the orc and drove her sword straight into its heart, killing him instantly. She quickly pulled her sword out of its body and rolled off the body and towards Thorin, drawing her second blade.

Ellía brought herself into the fighting taught to her by her father and stared down the orcs while placing herself in between them and Thorin. She spared the injured dwarf a quick glance and saw him staring at her weirdly before his eyes fluttered shut. The wargs slowly approached as they growled and snapped at her.

"Kill her!" Azog demanded, which was unfortunately the first full orkish sentence she understood. Ellía twirled her blades in her hands and readied herself for the approaching wargs and their riders, but she heard battle cries come from behind her.

The other dwarves had made it out of the tree and rushed forward to help the elf protect their king. Ellía kept her protective stance by Thorin and lunged at the nearest Warg, slashing its muzzle and stabbing the rider's leg. She spun around and swung her swords at the next warg, but it was Azog's. The white beast knocked her down and she landed painfully on her already injured back in front of Thorin.

She held in a cry of pain and pushed herself to her feet and held her blades in front of herself, menacingly, but Azog and his warg were unafraid. "You... scarred...be...gift...little she-elf." He growled at her with an evil smile. She pushed the flashes of horrible memories out of her mind as her ears began to sting. 'Not the time' she scolded herself.

Just as she thought the warg was going to lunge at her, she heard a loud cry come from the sky and a large eagle swooped down and grabbed a warg and dropped it off the mountain. "It's about time." Ellía breathed in relief as she watched Azog turn his warg to run from the now swarming eagles. She sunk to her knees as she watched the eagles pick up more wargs and orcs and throwing them off the cliff.

She heard a cry from behind her and turned to see an eagle gliding down with its talons stretched out. "Careful, mellon. He is injured." she called gently to the eagle as it sent her small nod and softly scooped Thorin up, blade and all.

Ellía forced herself to stand and help the eagles scare off the remainder of wargs and orcs as the dwarves and Bilbo were picked up. "It is time to go, My lady!" Gandalf called from the burning tree as it began to fall. She sent him a nod and finished off the orc she had been chasing and raced towards the edge of the cliff. Without hesitation, she leaped off the edge as Gandalf jumped out of the tree. The two fell for a moment before landing softly on the backs of two eagles.
