"Ok, down to business" Ava interrupted "As we told you before, we will like to adopt you, from what we've heard about you from the orphanage, we know that you are a very intelligent boy, and you invent too, we saw you participating in the robotics competition last year"
The man started talking "And since you are in need of a guardian, we will like to take you in"
Alex sat down quietly absorbing all that he has been told. Did he really want to be adopted?
"And if you have any question feel free to ask" Henry said
"Why me, why not anyone else, if you really enquired about me you should know that I'm a trouble maker" Alex said
"If we were looking for perfect we would just buy a robot, Alex you need to stop underestimating yourself" Ava spoke in a comforting voice
"Alex we know you've been through a lot and that's why we want to provide a stable environment where you can have peace and the resources to further your education.
Just then, the dining room door opened and the orphanage cook along with another woman brought their food and set it on the table.
After, they quietly turned around and left. Again, Alex noticed that they were nervous as if they were afraid of something. Alex's thought was interrupted when he heard Katie's voice
"You know I was also adopted too
"Katie, don't think of yourself as an adopted child" Katie said in a hushed voice
Alex realized that the woman had previously said that she could only give birth to females, how can this be possible if she doesn't even have a child Alex's senses were on full alert
"I need to use the restroom I'll be right back" he said as he stood up and started walking to the door. He took hurried steps as he was walking towards the restroom should he go to the police or should I tell the care giver that I don't want to get adopted, no if I do that, they will just find me.
Alex entered the washroom and walked to the tap, washing his face in frustration. His thoughts got disrupted which he felt a tap on his shoulders, and he panicked. He slowly tried to reach for his pocket knife in his pocket when he heard "Don't even think about it"
