"Lilith hurt up! We're going to be late for potions!"

Says Blaise as he drags me by the arm.

"Blaise, I'm not the reason we're late you know."

"Yes, yes I know that."

We run down the basement corridor until we reach the potions door. Blaise opens the door just enough for us to slip inside. Professor Snape is no where to be seen. Since we're arriving five minutes late, there's only two seats available. One being next to Harry and the other being next to Draco. Blaise takes the seat beside Draco so I sit with Harry. I'm across from Hermione and Ron.

"Alright class. Today we will be working on Wiggenweld Potion. Turn to page 248."

The class falls silent as they flip through their books to the right page.

"Please go over the ingredients that are needed and then in a calm manner, go and collect what you need from the back cabinets."

As I read over the list of ingredients I need, a balled up piece of parchment lands on my book. I slowly unfold it, not to bring too much attention to myself as I do so. The parchment reads:

"Up for a study group after lessons today?
H.G."

I've been doing study groups with Hermione, Ron, and Harry since the very beginning. This will be the first group this year. I pull my quill from its stand and write my reply on the bottom.

"Most definitely."

I take a quick look around the room and monitor Snape's movements before throwing it back. His back is facing me as he's helping a student in the front of the room. I test my luck and throw the parchment back to Hermione.

"Throwing things in my classroom are we Ms. Riddle?"

How did he manage that? His back was still turned.

"Uhm.."

"Ms. Riddle, it doesn't take all afternoon to answer a simple yes or no question."

"Yes Professor."

"Detention."

"Yes Professor."

Professor Snape looks down at me and smiles briefly. He walks away and continues making his rounds. I look up at Hermione who shrugs and gives me a 'sorry' smile. My head turns at the small laugh coming from our neighboring table. Blaise and Goyle look at me and they instantly stop. Draco gives me a thumbs up.
The rest of potions goes by way too fast. I'm halfway through our assignment when the bell chimes for our next lesson. Everyone, including myself quickly cleans up and make our way to our last few classes. The rest of the day also goes by quickly.

"Did Snape say what time your detention was?"

Asks Draco.

"No, but I assume it's right after my last class."

"You should head over now Lil. You don't want to be late."

"Yea, you're right. I'll meet up with you later."

Draco pats my shoulder twice before I walk away from our last class. I push my way through the crowd of students who are also leaving their final class and heading back to their common rooms. Once I finally reach his room, I exhale deeply and enter. Professor Snape is talking with another student. Her name is Piper I think. She's a seventh year, I know her through our fathers but we don't talk. She has a really nasty, narcissistic personality.
I stand at the back of the room, up against the back counter and wait patiently for their conversation to finish. Piper walks toward me, giving me a type of cocky, I'm better than you look. Typical.
The door closes with a quiet thud. I carry my books and sit at my usual, day time table. Professor Snape approaches.
He leans down, his lips find mine as quick as a magnet does to something that attracts it. His hand holds the right side of my face. He pulls away, only about an inch to make room for conversation.

"Hello darling."

His voice comes out smooth, making me melt a tiny bit.

"How was the rest of your day? No one bothered you?"

His eyes continue to stare deeply into mine, not breaking contact. His hands gets warmer the longer he holds it to my face.

"Yes, today was good. I received an Outstanding on Professor McGonagall's exam."

"That's wonderful."

His lips find mine yet again. This time stopping quickly when a knock can be heard on the door. I pull away and open my books, pretending to study. Snape takes a deep breath as he collects himself.

"Enter."

The door creaks open and Harry walks in.

"I'm sorry Professor, I forgot my book in here earlier."

"Hi Harry."

I say as Harry walks past.

"Hey Lilith. Hermione still wants to study when you're finished here."

"Okay, I'll meet you guys in the common room later."

"Alright, that's enough Potter. She is serving a detention. You two can talk later."

"Right. Sorry Professor. Bye Lilith."

Harry grabs his book from the table and leaves. The room remains quiet for a minute as I think of something to say.

"Severus?"

He walks back over to me, and I look up at him.

"Darling?"

His eyebrow raises ever so slightly as he attempts to read me.

"Are you...jealous of my guy friends?"

I ask. My eyes fall to his hand that's fidgeting with the side of his robe. My hand reaches for it. I gently squeeze his and I feel his fingers moving around in my hand, letting me know he's still feeling nervous.

"No. It's not that darling...Well, I wouldn't think it would fall under the category of jealousy."

"Talk to me."

"Now isn't the time for that darling. Please, work on your studies and we'll discuss this later."

I let go and his hand drops to his side. I look up at Severus who is now visibly uncomfortable. I turn around and face forward. Focusing on my homework. Severus walks up to his desk and goes back to grading papers.
