Luke came to a halt in his thoughts as the Luther guy said something intriguing. When the Luther person lifted his hood that had been obscuring his face, Luke gazed at him and his eyes widened.
An angry-looking orange ponytailed-haired man with shining orange eyes appeared. Veins are popping out from his head and his eyes are dark, he looks really pissed.
Looking at the man's features, Luke was taken aback. It wasn't because of his strange orange hair; it was because he knew this guy. He did not meet him anywhere, and he has never met him before in his life, but he is familiar with him. It's because he read about him.
Noah's necromancer, the undead's reigning lord, and the one who used his necromancy talents to single-handedly defeat Nash's corpse. And also the delusional fanatic who sees Noah as a God....
"Jay...?"
When Jay's name was accidentally blurted out by Luke, he stopped moving and was locked in his position. Jay then looked at Luke with complete and utter shock. He was so shocked that his eyeballs might pop out.
"You... Know me?"
Luke remained silent and stared at Jay in disbelief. Why is this guy here? Isn't he supposed to be in the Eastern continent around these times? Why is he here so early?
Jay was supposed to stay in the Eastern continent not until after the second wave of war with the Regle Alliance was over, as he will hear about Noah's heroic and powerful strength that will be soon widespread on the entire world like wildfire. That is also the start of Jay being a total Noah fanatic and starts to worship Noah and follows him around like a dog.
Jay will display his necromancy powers to Noah and Noah will gladly accept him in the team because of his unique powers that will soon be found useful in defeating Nash's corpse that has been experimented with by Ash. Noah would've thrown Jay long ago because of his unhealthy obsession with worshipping him but didn't because of his powers. As a result, Jay evolved into the obnoxious yet handy dog who follows Noah's every command.
People would have found him annoying in general... And, to be honest, Luke finds him unpleasant at times because of his crazed fanaticism, but he overlooks all of that when Jay shows his undying devotion to Noah almost 100 percent of the time. If Liam is the quiet but deadly loyal knight, then Jay is the loud and crazy loyal necromancer to Noah.
No one knows the reason as to why Jay had this crazy fanatic personality; even the author cannot explain it. Maybe that is just one of Jay's unique traits.
And now... The said Noah fanatic has now built a church solely dedicated to Luke and is now here, being the representative of the people and defending him from Duke Reo. He even came to the Western continent earlier than the novel.
"Was he someone you knew?"
Luke looked at Dos who is looking at Jay with interest. Luke was deafeningly quiet for a few moments before sighing.
"Kind of..."
Luke rubbed his head and sighed before turning to face Jay, who was still staring at him, surprised. Luke then peeked at Noah who is just staring at Jay with confusion. He wouldn't witness any Noah worshipping scenes here, right?
Bam!
Luke turned his eyes forward and looked at the ground. He then noticed Jay kneeling in front of him on the ground. Jay is kneeling towards him which made Luke confused.
'Wait, why is he kneeling in front of me?'
"I am so glad that the heroic lord took his time to even say this poor follower's name! This is something I will never forget! The hero recognizes me! Even though I didn't say my name, the brave lord recognizes me! You are a powerful entity who knows everything and guards everything! I was correct in following you! I swear! I will be devoted to you for the rest of my life!"
The room went completely silent, it was a deafening silence. All of them were just dumbstruck as they look at Jay kneeling on the ground towards Luke. Luke blinked a few times towards Jay with his mouth agape.
'What just happened? Jay will be loyal to whom? To me? Why? What exactly did I do? 'What went wrong?'
Luke was absolutely baffled as he tried to comprehend what had just occurred in the previous ten seconds. He then suddenly felt someone patting his back and saw Dos shaking his head while clicking his tongue as if he pities him. Luke just looked at him with a dumb expression but turned his head towards Lance when he heard his tired low voice.
"It appears that living a tranquil life will be much more difficult for you. Congratulations, you've gained a devoted follower who believes you're an extraterrestrial being who knows everything."
Luke's hand began to shake as he became more nervous. He just gained a what? A worshipper? And it's Jay? Isn't Jay supposed to worship Noah not him? Why? What did he do to deserve all of these bad things happening to him?
Luke was speechless, he wanted to cry. Why is he having such bad luck? He should've kept his resurrection a secret and lived as a hermit on his island. He truly regrets everything, but regret alone will not save him from his current condition.
Luke wanted to have his sad moment for a few more minutes but flinched when he heard Duke Reo shouting again.
"Ha! Look at these people! A poor, innocent man was brainwashed into being the devil's worshipper! He's a threat!"
Jay's ears twitched, and he leaped to his feet and glared angrily at Duke Reo.
"Silence! Didn't you hear about the rumors that the God of Light and Darkness finally sent a message to their temples after thousands of years?! It also states that whoever bothers with the person who carries the Gods' blessings would suffer the wrath of the Gods! So I recommend you to leave him alone!"
"That's right! Look! The Gods backed up the young master because he was so righteous! Now you dare say that he is a demon?!"
Paulina suddenly rose to her feet and stared fearlessly at Duke Reo. Norman simply looked at her, concerned and worried, but it appears that he also agrees with Paulina's opinion. Luke just stared at them, confused, before turning his gaze to Lance, who was sighing hard. Lance then rose to his feet and placed his hands on Luke's shoulder, causing Luke to flinch. But it wasn't the only thing that made Luke flinch; what Lance said after that stunned him even more.
"I am betting my throne succession in the line to prove you all that I am confident that this dear little brother of mine is not a demon and not a threat to our kingdom."
