"Tch, it appears that Reece is a difficult foe."

The commander who had just been tossed out by Liam has just gotten back on his feet and is now being treated by healing mages on their side. He begins to examine the battlefield while he waits for his recovery. Things don't appear to be going well for them.

'I had no idea the Black Hero's group was that wild and crazy...'

The commander then turned his attention to the two important forces on the Reece's side. Liam and Spencer, even though they are only two people, their strength and destructiveness are sufficient to murder about 100 soldiers in less than 30 minutes. The commander gulped as he looked at the two piercing his soldiers with mana spears and slashing their soldiers in half with a creepy smile on their face. They don't seem disturbed in the least and continue to slaughter their forces with a blank face or a smile.

Following Luke's death, the Reece's soldiers were undoubtedly weakened, and their thoughts were still unable to move on from Luke's loss, leading their movements to be considerably slower. Also, following Luke's death, they can no longer summon the giants or the Kraken, which is a major setback for Reece's forces.

Calling the giants and the legendary Kraken, who even does that? Well, there's only one individual who can accomplish it, but he's already dead, so the commander's mind is at ease.

The commander let out a sigh. After their side took two straight defeats from the first part of the war, it has greatly discouraged their people and lower their morale so their side planned to get rid of the source of it all, Luke.

They requested the Dark Eye for assistance in getting rid of Luke, and they thankfully consented, but in exchange, they must fight this war alone to discover if they are truly deserving of the Dark Eye's allyship. The Regle alliance's commanders hesitated at first, but they couldn't bear to lose face, so they agreed to their requirements.

Lady luck seemed to be on their side, as after killing Luke, their army became re-motivated, and this time there are no supernatural or mythical beings involved. This conflict will be a lot simpler to win than the last one.

'First and foremost, I need to get rid of Spencer and Liam.'

"Oi, don't you appear to be a bit too relaxed?"

When the commander heard Liam's amused voice beside him, his eyes trembled and he flinched. When he turned around, he noticed Liam smiling at him. The commander was visibly shaken. He had no idea Liam was like this. From what they and the whole continent knew, Liam is an obedient and nice personal knight of the Black Coat hero, not this psychotic and fight-crazy looking guy.

Is this... The real him?

"Hah? How dare you doze off when I'm right in front of you?"

Before the commander realized it, he was felt an excruciating pain in his gut, as if he had been struck by a thick piece of hard metal. He then started to be flung meters away from where he was standing as if he were a ball being hit by a bat.

Liam looked unhappy at the blood coughing commander he had just kicked and is now laying on the ground in the distance. Liam sighed and frowned as he slung his blade over his shoulders.

"Unbelievable, how did you manage to be the commander when you're so weak? Even the slapstick commander who is deceased is more powerful than you."

Blood was coughed up by the commander, who frowned.

'Deceased slapstick commander...? Is he referring to Luke? His master? Why?'

He was deep in thought when he heard Liam's ominous voice approaching him.
