Chapter 13: New Me

Jane felt like she has been pulled from a cold and deep lake and opened her eyes.

Gasp!

Jane held her chest and catch her breath, she sat up from the bed. She tried to speak but her throat was so dry that it hurts trying to speak. She then looked around. She is in a room she is unfamiliar with. She then heard Nash's voice beside her and turned her head.

"...Jane?"

Jane looked at Nash who is looking at her as if he's looking at a ghost. He then blinked a few times before jumping to hug her. Jane caught Nash and patted his back.

"W-where, ehem... The others?"

Nash broke the hug and jumped down from the bed while turning invisible and went outside. After a few seconds, she heard several footsteps coming towards her room.

BANG!

The door opened wide and Sujin siblings stormed inside the room. They all ran towards the bed. The kids hugged her with teary eyes.

"Uwaaahh! Sister!"

"Y-you finally woke up!"

"Were so worried!"

"You were unconscious for two weeks!"

Jane patted their heads but stopped. She tried to speak but she can't. Spencer passed a cup of water to her and Jane gulped it down.

"What did you say? two weeks? I've passed out for two weeks?"

"Yes! Everyone in the village is worried for you! They've been thinking about you while repairing the village!"

Jane frowned and looked at the children.

"The village is thinking about me? Why? Did I do anything?"

The children were about to answer her but someone answered for them.

"The villagers remembered everything, starting from the beginning when they fell into mind control and when you, jumped up to eliminate the evil being."

Jane looked at the door and saw a woman with short golden hair and golden eyes looking at her from outside the room. She slowly walked towards Jane while still looking at her. Jane asked in a shocked voice.

"What? They remember everything?"

"Yes."

Jane's forehead started to sweat while looking at the woman in front of her. What she said just now is like a massive bomb for Jane.

'Shit, they remembered? And they are thinking about me? I thought that they will break free from the spell and will not remember anything. They won't spread weird rumors about me right?'

Jane sighed to calm herself and then started to look at the woman in front of her. She offered her hand and the woman accepted it.

"My name is Jane... Nice to meet you, it seems like you're eating well these past few days."

"Oh, so you remembered me. Nice to meet you too, My name is Selena."

"Right, Selena... Can I ask you for a favor?"

"Oh? I came here exactly because of that. It looks like you have something you want. Ask me anything."

"Okay."

Jane cleared her breath and spoke in a serious voice.

"Please turn me into a man."

The room fell silent and the people around Jane stared at her with wide eyes. Jane didn't care and just focused on Selena who is looking at her as if she was crazy. Jane tightly squeezed Selena's hand.
