Y/N POV:
Living at the compound with the avengers is cool. There is no denying that at all. You're never lonely and there's always people around. However, there are pros and cons to this situation. The good parts are that there's always someone to play mario kart with, and Wanda and Steve are always up for painting. Loki is surprisingly good at chess, so we have an ongoing tournament currently.

But there are some bad parts. Well, for me at least. One of which being training. We all train in a big group, with Steve usually leading and planning the sessions. Sparring, cardio, weights, endurance, reflexes, weapons, you name it, we probably do it. I love training with weapons, but when it comes to cardio and sparring, I just feel so insecure.

Nat, Yelena and Wanda all train at the same time as I do. And they're all perfect. Perfectly toned and tanned bodies, Nat and Yelena are insanely good at fighting, and Wanda has the coolest powers ever. So when I'm stood next to them, I just feel so worthless.

I don't have anything special to offer. I'm not really sure what Fury saw in me to let me join the avengers. But all I know is that it must have been a joke, because I am no where near their level. So it's safe to say I hate training day... and that just so happens to be everyday. Without fail.

*present day*
"BEEP! BEEP! BEEEP! BEEEEEEEP!!"

I slam my hand down on the top of my alarm, groaning as I slowly open my eyes. I'm not a morning person. At all. I really don't understand why Cap made training at 5:30am, but we don't argue with him.

I swung my legs off my bed, stumbling slightly as my head was still heavy with sleep. FRIDAY slowly turned on the lights, keeping them at a low level as to not overwhelm my eyes. I walked into my closet and grabbed a sports bra, some leggings and some converse. I knew I was on weights today, followed by cardio, so my running sneakers are kept in my gym locker.

After getting dressed, I threw my hair into a high ponytail, securing it with 2 hair ties to make sure it doesn't fall down. It was about 5:20, meaning I had 10 minutes to get down to the training room. I grabbed an oversized hoodie to disguise my body, and walked out of my room, picking up my phone, water bottle and airpods on the way out.

The elevator brought me out directly by the gym, and I got in with 2 minutes to spare. As I walked through the doors, I could see everyone stood chatting, waiting for the session to start. Nat and Wanda were having a conversation, and they both threw smiles my way. Nat waved me over, but I ignored her, choosing to go to the lockers on the back wall instead. I wasn't in the mood to make small talk today. I just wanted to get in there and get out.

Cap walked through the doors, with Sam and Bucky not far behind. The workout plans were projected onto the board, and everyone got to work.

I started on the treadmills, warming up with some jogging and then moving into a quicker run. With my headphones in (blasting Fleetwood Mac and Abba) it was difficult to hear people around me, but I saw out of the corner of my eye, Nat climb onto the treadmill next to me. I kept my eye line down, not wanting to talk.

We both ran for about 25 minutes, and I took a break to get water whilst Nat carried on. A blush had already started forming on my cheeks, as I realised that I look so unfit, needing a rest now when Nat is barely breaking a sweat.

She had taken her shirt off, leaving her in a sports bra and leggings, her toned stomach on show. I tried my best not to stare, but I couldn't help it. She was everything I wanted to be. I still had my hoodie on, even thought I was boiling, but now there was no way I am taking it off. I don't need that embarrassment when people see how fat I am stood next to Nat.

I got back on the treadmill and continued for another 40 minutes, before getting off and walking over to the weight rack. I picked them up, slotting them onto the bar, and started my reps.

Nat's POV:
I was stood with Wanda waiting for training to begin. I'm good at waking up early, so I was wide awake and ready to go. As we were talking, I saw Y/N walk in, wearing an oversized black hoodie. It's the middle of July, and the training room is really hot, so I don't really understand why she's wearing that. Everyone else here has either shorts or tank tops on.

I smiled at her and beckoned her over to join in our conversation, but she just half smiled back and carried on walking to the lockers. Y/N used to be so chatty and smiley, saying hi to everyone she passed, telling jokes and playing pranks on Sam and Peter. But recently she's become quieter. She spends more time in her room, only coming down for mealtimes. But when I ask her what she's doing up there, she just says "oh paperwork". I know that's not true, but I don't know how to prove it.

Coming out of my thoughts, I glanced up at the board to see my first exercise. I had cardio, so I made my way over to the treadmills, where Y/N happened to be. She had her headphones in so I knew she wouldn't be able to hear me, so I didn't say hi or anything. She was running quite fast for a warm up, and she still had her hoodie on.

I peeled off my tank top and climbed onto the treadmill, setting my pace and turning on my music. I ran for about 25 minutes before Y/N got off to grab a drink. I wasn't too out of breath as my pace was slow as I was warming up, so I didn't need to stop for water. I could feel Y/N looking at me, but I didn't want to make her feel uncomfortable if i turned around, so I kept my focus forward, concentrating on running with proper form and posture.

After about an hour and a half on the treadmill, I got off and looked around. Wanda was using her powers on the simulation, smashing it as always. Yelena and Clint were sparring on the mats, and Steve was pummelling the punch bag as usual.

I saw Y/N lying on the bench, pressing weights. Her hoodie had ridden up slowly, to reveal her stomach, and wow she is was hot as hell. I mean, I knew she was hot anyway, but she always hides under hoodies so I don't know what her body is like. As she pushes the weight upwards, I can see her abs tensing, creating an even more defined look. I knew I was frozen watching her, but I just couldn't move my eyes away.

I didn't realise but Y/N had finished her sat and had now stood up from the bench. She turned in my direction and we locked eyes, neither of us wanting to look away. Her ponytail was a bit messy, leaving baby hairs falling around her face, framing it perfectly. Her mouth hung open slightly as her breathing was heavy, having just finished an intense weight set. I so badly wanted to tell her how I felt, but I couldn't bring myself to say anything.

Y/N POV:
I locked eyes with Nat, completely entranced by her. How she manages to look so perfect whilst working out is beyond me. She really is everything I want to be.

I could feel sweat begin to run down my forehead, as I really pushed myself today on weights. Without even thinking about it, I grabbed the hem of my hoodie, bringing it up to wipe my face as I hd left my towel in the locker. I didn't think about how this would expose my stomach, until I heard:

"NICE ABS Y/N!!"

I instantly broke eye contact from Nat, my face turning bright red as I whipped my head round, trying to find the source of the voice.

Sam was stood by the water cooler, looking in my direction with a grin on his face. I immediately let my hoodie go, grabbing my phone and water, and bolting out of the door. I could hear Nat shouting for me to come back, but I just ran. I ran all the way back to my room, locking the door.

Nat's POV:
The minute I heard Sam say that, I knew it was bad. Y/N went bright red and ran out of the room.

"Y/N WAIT!!" I shouted as she slammed through the door, the handle smacking against the wall as she burst through.

"shit. SAM! YOU IDIOT!" I could here Sam protesting behind me, but I didn't care. I needed to find Y/N. I ran up the stairs, yelling her name as I went. I don't know what just happened, but I don't want to leave her alone.
