"You requested me Allfather?" A young maid walked into Odin's study where he sat looking out a large window over the kingdom. He held his hands behind his back and turned slowly to face the girl. His gold eye patch glistening in the natural light making him look regal.
"Yes I have, I need you to do something for me that you mustn't tell anyone about" Odin said walking over to the girl who held her head down and looked to the floor.
"Yes Allfather?"
Odin paced around the study with a concentrated look on his face. He was deep in thought and seemed stressed and troubled.
"The guards got word that someone is going to attempt to assassinate me" Odin faltered. "I don't believe anything will happen nor will they succeed but the Queen is persistent that we get to the bottom of this as soon as possible."
The maid now looking up, stared at the King with worry and panic. It was overwhelming to be told that your king would be assassinated, especially since he said it so casually.
"And what would you like me to do your highness? I am no warrior or guard I am just a hand maiden your majesty" she rambled. Odin sighed and rolled his eyes.
"I don't need a warrior, if I did, I would be going to my son not you. I need someone who can spy on those... Avengers. I find it suspicious and odd that they happen to be staying here around the time this is to take place. Not to mention they all have such strange abilities and dark pasts... They have won the hearts of many so it would be easy for one of them to strike."
"You want me to spy on them? Well do you have any particular suspects? There is many of them and they're never all in the same place for very long" Odin stopped pacing and paused for a second. Deeper in thought than he was before he answered the maid.
"That women, Lilith Avenal" Odin turned sharply to the woman. "She's courting my son, Loki. If I were to die he would ascend to the throne, seeing Thor does not want it as he is in love with that other mortal Jane. Perhaps she wants power, to be a queen. She did not hesitate to talk back to me and has a large attitude problem..."
"Your majesty, I don't think Lady Lilith would have something to do with this. From what I have seen in her stay she's kind and processes no particular powers like the others" the girl protested.
"I didn't ask for your opinion, I asked for a spy. Do I need to find someone else who will do this for me or are you capable enough to do as your asked without questioning my wisdom?" Odin snapped.
"I'm sorry Allfather, I shall be a spy for you" she said backing down and looking to the floor once more.
"Good. You are dismissed" Odin commanded ordering the girl out of the room. Once she left Odin turned back to the window where he could see the Avengers running around and laughing with each other.
His eye landed on Lilith who lied on the grass with Loki looking up and pointing at the clouds, giggling and talking with the younger members of the team.
"What are you planning Lilith..."
