I couldn't stop thinking about last night. I couldn't stop thinking about any of it. The kiss, the ball, Loki... Last night Loki and I spent the night together in his room and just stayed up for hours talking, it was nice. And before bed he kissed me on the lips and hugged me close, it felt so good to just be able to get close to him without worrying and overthinking.
This morning I had to sneak out before anyone could see. My ball gown laid across an armchair in his room and replacing it some of Loki's old clothes that weren't too big on me.
"I'll see you at breakfast love" Loki said kissing me on the forehead.
"Loki for now can we keep this quiet? You know how the other's can be and Tony will have a fit about it" I say with a weak smile brushing my hair out of my face. Loki nodded and let out a sigh.
"Of course darling" I bid him goodbye with a final kiss and rushed off to my room to get ready. I have a bath, braiding my hair and slipping on a simple red dress with a matching shawl before heading down to breakfast.
"Look who's finally here" Sam said teasingly as I walked in. Everyone was already seated eating including the warriors three and Sif this time with Frigga. Loki was at the opposite end of the table sitting next to Wanda reading a book while sipping his earl grey tea. His eyes flickered to me, and he gave me a soft smile before continuing to read.
"Quiet bird brains" I tease back taking a seat between him and Bucky and subtly smiling back to Loki. I get some fruit and toast on my plate and pour myself some juice. While munching on the toast Nat talks to me from the opposite side of the table.
"So Lil, where did you go after rushing off last night?" Nat asked making me choke a little on my toast.
"What happened? Did the clock strike midnight Cinderella?" Toy said.
"I just went out to get some fresh air away from the crowd" I say casually ignoring the billionaire.
"We tried to go and find you, but we couldn't" Bucky added leaning back in his chair. "Speaking of that, Loki did you end up finding Lilith when you went after her?"
Loki looked up from his book with a blank expression, his eyes flickering between us.
"Nope" Loki returned to his book, but Wanda scoffed unconvinced. I feel my stomach turn as I start to panic; did they know about us? Why were they asking so many questions?
"Yeah, sure you didn't" Sif said snickering with Thor. "Oh Lilith, by the way, there was some man at the ball last night whose eye you caught. Said you were quite beautiful and may have interest in courting you" I flush at Sif's words not knowing what to say.
Loki sat uncomfortable and loudly snapped his book shut and set it on the table.
"Not if I get to her first, I refuse to give up! You shall be mine Lady Lilith" Fandral jested making the other's laugh, all except for the god of mischief.
"So what do you say Lil? Going to go after this mystery man?" Bucky nudged me. I laugh awkwardly and shove him.
"No of course not, I don't even know that man" I bite into a piece of fruit trying to void everyone's gazes.
"There isn't any other reason?" Steve asked with a smirk.
"Perhaps a long hair, green eyed and stabby personality reason?" Tony suggested making my eyes widen. "Yeah, we know kid, saw the whole thing" Tony let out a laugh as you shrunk into your chair.
"Oh are you cold here take this!" Clint exclaimed throwing a blanket over Pietro who swooned.
"Oh thank you my prince! I love you~" I flip them both off and burry my face in my hands. Everyone was laughing, including Frigga, at the boys. Loki watched me with a sympathetic smile.
"I hate you both" I grumble annoyed, glaring at the men.
"Maybe, but you loooovveee Loki" Pietro cooed.
"Alright I've had it" I say standing up and take out my dagger. Pietro's eyes widened in horror as I lined it up and threw it at him. Seconds before it could hit him, he dashed off outside and fell into the bushes, my dagger wedging itself into the wall.
"Love please don't kill Pietro with your dagger" Loki said from his side of the table. A few of the group pouted at the nickname and smirked to me.
"For once listen to Loki" Steve said with an approving smile.
"-Instead use this" Loki said conjuring a spear.
"NO" Steve said snatching the spear away. Everyone laughed and giggled at Steve who was scolding Loki for his behaviour. I laugh at the two and Loki's eyes flicker to me. A smile spreads across his face and we stared at each other for what felt like hours, as if we were stuck I a dream.
"Okay that's enough you two!" Tony said protectively throwing a piece of bread at Loki's head and brining me into a tight hug. Loki scowled and threw a grape at Tony hitting him in the eye. "Ow! You ass!"
"Children" Frigga sighed shaking her head with a smile. "Lilith would you care to join me? I need some help assorting flowers for the garden."
"Of course" I say with pleasure. Frigga and I both stand up from the table and bid the others goodbye. She leads me out to one of the many gardens where baskets of different kinds of flowers had been laid out which were being set up by a few of the maids. "Lilith, may I ask you something?"
